Are you comfortable in your bed?
Are you warm and cozy?
Let's go on a bedtime adventure together,
Diving into the sea and exploring the underwater world.
But first,
Let's get our mind situated.
To go into this adventure,
We first need to relax our body and mind and get ready for our diving exploration.
To do this,
We first need to get dressed with the appropriate diving suit and snorkeling accessories.
Imagine yourself at the beach.
Let's put on our diving suit.
First pull it through your right foot and all the way up to cover your whole right leg.
Then your left foot and pull it up to cover your whole left leg.
Then you pass your right hand and arm through the sleeve and then your left hand and arm through the left sleeve.
You cover both your shoulders and then zip the whole suit from the belly.
You pull the zipper all the way up to your chest.
Next let's put on our flippers.
First the right foot and then the left foot.
Before covering up your nose with the mask,
Let's take some relaxing breaths as we look out into the ocean.
Breathe in through your nose slowly and deeply as you look out at the dark blue waters and light blue sky.
Breathe out through your mouth making the sound of the ocean.
Breathe in again through your nose and out through your mouth.
One last time,
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Alright we are ready to put on our masks.
Pull it through your head and cover your eyes.
The world looks different when you have this mask on,
Doesn't it?
Now your snorkel goes in your mouth so you can breathe through this straw looking tube.
Are you ready?
Let's get in the water.
As you walk towards the ocean,
The flippers make you walk kind of silly.
You really need to raise each foot as you take each step.
Don't worry,
Soon in the water you will swim like a fish.
You're walking into the waves.
They come caressing your feet.
These are not strong waves as the place we're snorkeling in today is a bay that closes in causing the waves to be quite calm.
The water level first covers your feet and as you keep walking it covers your calves then thighs.
Soon the water level keeps rising.
It covers your belly and then all the way up to your chest.
You feel the cooler temperature of the water but the diving suit helps you not be cold.
The water now is all the way up to your neck and your arms and shoulders are underwater.
Your feet no longer reach the floor so you start moving them making your flippers behave like fins and you're floating.
Are you ready to get your face in the water?
Let's count to three.
One,
Two,
Three.
Your face is in the water while the snorkel is still above the water surface so that you can keep breathing through your mouth.
What do you see?
There is a lot of blue,
A lot of bubbles.
You see how the sunlight comes in and diffuses in the water making it all a little lighter.
You see your own feet moving,
Undulating.
You're still floating with your feet down.
Bring them up behind you so you can begin to swim.
Your hands come forward and then push the water backwards as you begin to move.
Look over to the left.
There are some coral reefs over there.
You swim towards them and you begin to see a fish,
Then two,
Then three.
These are blue,
Shiny little fish.
They're swimming very closely to the coral.
I'll let you explore a bit on your own and we'll pick back up in a bit.
How was your exploration?
What fish did you see?
I saw a little seahorse and a few schools of fish of different colors.
There was silver and orange and blue.
Many of them would shine as the diffused light from the sun would hit their scales.
Many yellow fish as well and some with beautiful colorful lines.
The corals themselves were very pretty as well,
Moving slowly to the rhythm of the water,
Tickling the fish that swim in them.
Are you ready to come back out of the water?
Bring your head up as the rest of your body is still in the water.
Above the water surface,
You take off your mask and snorkel to breathe in air through your nose.
Your head and hair are still dripping with ocean water and you begin to let yourself float back towards the beach.
Your feet suddenly reach the floor and as you keep walking out,
Your body comes out of the water little by little.
That was a dreamy experience,
Wasn't it?
On the sand,
You walk towards your towel,
You sit down and you look out at the ocean and smile.
Thank you ocean for this wonderful experience.
I'll let you fall asleep now,
Dreaming of coral reefs,
Fish and waves.
Good night and thank you for meditating with me.
