Welcome to this Golden Honey Elixir Meditation Practice.
So go ahead and find yourself a comfortable position,
There's no need for any special posture.
You just want to be comfortable but not so comfortable that you might fall asleep.
And then when you're ready and you've settled in,
Then gently close your eyes.
And start to turn your awareness inwards.
We'll begin by just becoming aware of the breath.
Let the breath be a little longer,
A little slower,
A little deeper on the inhale.
And a little longer,
A little slower,
A little deeper on the exhale.
Just continue with this in your own time.
A little longer,
A little slower,
A little deeper on the inhale.
A little longer,
A little slower,
A little deeper on the exhale.
Now turn your attention to the weight of the body.
So however you're positioned,
Just notice the points of contact with your body and the surface that it's on.
Your feet on the floor.
Maybe noticing the back of your body,
The chair or the floor,
Whatever you're positioned on.
Become aware of the hands or the arms,
Wherever they're resting,
On your legs or on your belly.
And again turn your attention to the whole back of the body.
Become aware of the whole back of the body.
Now noticing any sounds,
Any sounds inside the room and sounds a little further out into the distance.
Just allow your attention to jump from sound to sound.
And so we're simply just bringing the mind into the physical senses.
Now just settle back into the space around you.
Start to bring your attention a little bit more towards the body.
Let's just scan from the head to the toes.
Just bring your awareness to any areas that might feel comfortable or even uncomfortable.
We're neither judging nor pushing anything away,
We're just noticing.
Simply building up a picture of how the body feels.
And then just notice if there is any particular mood that's around at the moment.
And again there's no need to judge it as good or bad,
We're simply noticing whatever that is.
And now once again gently shift your focus to the rise and fall of the breath.
Just become increasingly comfortable in following the natural rhythm of your own breath.
In fact just imagine a steady flow from just above the crown of the head.
It's almost as if you're breathing in from the crown of the head,
Like a flow of golden honey elixir moving down your body all the way to your toes.
Smooth and golden,
Warm,
Bright yellow,
Golden honey elixir.
And then as you exhale just notice that the breath moves all the way through the body from the toes all the way up and out through the crown of the head.
It's as if your whole body is being filled up with this golden honey elixir.
It's just melting any tension or discomfort.
And if you're visual you can just follow as the breath moves down through the crown of the head,
This golden honey elixir all the way to the toes on the inhale.
Then all the way from the toes up through the body on the exhale.
And again as you inhale just notice that this healing golden elixir fills up the toes one at a time and then travels up through the feet and the heels,
The ankles and continues all the way up through the crown of the head.
Your whole body being bathed in this golden honey elixir,
It's simply melting away any tension and allowing even more spaciousness and brightness and warmth.
And just notice that as this elixir fills up the upper half of the body towards the hips and pelvis,
This steady flow of golden elixir is simply melting any tension away.
Every inhale pouring down through the crown of the head,
Filling right up through the trunk of the body,
The stomach,
The lower back,
Towards the diaphragm,
Melting away any tension,
Soothing.
Notice that your whole being is flowing with this unctuous golden healing elixir of honey.
And it continues to flow down both of the arms towards the elbows and hands.
Just filling all the fingers one at a time,
The hands,
The wrists.
And again just feeling as it fills up towards the elbows and shoulders,
Just melting any tension as it continues up through the neck and the throat,
All the way up through the head,
Muscles of the face.
And just noticing your whole form is filled with this warm golden honey elixir,
It's soothing and clearing,
Allowing for more spaciousness.
Just notice that as this elixir flows downwards and then filling the whole being on the exhale,
Just noticing that your entire body and mind follow the example of the breath and become even more spacious and bathed in this golden honey elixir.
And now just allow any imagery to completely dissolve away and just come to rest in this space of clarity.
Once again bring your attention back into the body.
Start to feel the weight of the body again,
The physical points of contact between your body and the surface that it's on.
Start to notice the sounds in the room,
The sounds a little further out into the distance.
Any smells,
Perhaps there's even a taste in your mouth even if it's just your own saliva.
Then start to bring your awareness back into the space around you.
When you're ready you can gently bring a smile either outwardly or inwards to your face.
And this practice has one giant smile.
You can make whatever movements you need with your hands and wrists or stretch to allow the body to become wide awake.
And very gently opening your eyes in your own time,
Coming back into normal waking consciousness.
