The speed of now.

How fast is now.

My mind sometimes feels like it's racing.

Thought after thought after thought.

A ceaseless domino cascade of compelling and urgent pop-ups that drag me along with them at great speed.

Amazing that thought feels so fast,

Like the crackle and spark of lightning.

Is reality as fast as this?

Or is my mind just firing off,

Trying to protect,

But dragging me all over the place pointlessly.

How fast is now.

Find a comfortable position and close your eyes.

Breathe through your nose,

Lips gently closed.

Let your breath quieten.

Feel yourself breathe.

How does the air feel as it comes in through your nose?

Cool?

Dry maybe?

How does the air feel as it leaves your nose?

Is it warmer?

Feel the path the air takes as it travels down into your lungs.

What shape would it be?

A straight line?

A wavy line?

Some indistinct fuzz?

Let your stomach release and relax.

Let your breath travel as if into your stomach.

Stomach gently expanding and releasing.

How fast is this?

Quiet,

Calm,

Slow.

How fast is now.

I watch a movie or an episode.

Action after tension,

Afterwards.

A ceaseless domino cascade of compelling and urgent storylines that drag me along with them at great speed.

Amazing that this screen life seems to go so fast,

Like the crackle and spark of lightning.

Is reality as fast as this?

Or are my screens just firing off,

Trying to entertain and stimulate,

Dragging my mind all over the place?

Jaw soft and light.

Let your breath gently come in and out,

As if it fills your head.

Spaces gently expanding and releasing.

How fast is this?

Quiet.

Calm.

Slow.

Slow.

How slow is now?

As slow as breath ebbing and flowing.

As slow as dust settling.

As slow as a calm moment where I let it be.

Slow.

Slowly nod your head.

Open your eyes.
