This is a short morning meditation and it's meant to connect you to spirit before you move out into the day.
Make any movements to get comfortable seated or lying down.
Once you become still,
Rest your hands on your torso.
Feel the warmth of your own hands on your body.
You might detect your heartbeat,
Feel the rhythm of your breathing through your hands,
Or notice how your hands bring you a sense of ease and comfort.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Imagine all of the mind's chatter washing down to the earth.
There it's taken underground and rinsed far away from your body and what's left behind is a quiet restful mind.
Say to yourself,
I am now at peace.
I am connecting to my highest self.
Allow a few more breaths to pass by.
In the silence ahead,
Watch for any thoughts that move into your mind or strong emotions that well up in your body.
As they come and they will,
Watch them from a distance.
You can imagine you see your thoughts and emotions pass like ships as you sit firmly on the river shore.
Whatever thoughts or emotions arose,
They were fine.
We will soon do this again in silence,
But now turn your attention to the watcher on the shore.
In the silence ahead,
As you see thoughts or strong emotions,
Turn your attention back towards the watcher.
In the moments when you see or feel the watcher,
Know you've found blessings of peace in being present by meeting with your highest self.
You may have felt short moments of peace while in quiet contemplation,
So you felt a deeply rooted connection to the self.
Either way,
Your intention to establish connection to spirit has brought you here today,
So you can be assured you're on the right path.
All is well in this morning.
Stay here a short while longer,
Mentally coasting,
And enjoying the body and mind at ease.
Gently wiggle your toes and fingers.
Take a deep breath and a sigh.
Repeat after me.
I turn inward for comfort and ease.
I am my own best guide to the source.
I am now deeply rooted in my highest self,
So I trust myself to meet any and all circumstances today.
Thank you for sharing this time with me today.
