There are times when change like moving to a new city or a new home or changing careers is The right thing at the right time But there are also times when the urge for change is really just a desire to run away from Problems that need to be faced rather than avoided these are the kinds of problems that Recur in our lives for example issues with co-workers that seem to arise at every job we take or repeatedly getting into unhealthy relationships a Move might temporarily distract us and even cure the problem for a time Simply by taking us out of the situation in which the problem has fully manifested However,
The problem will eventually Reappear again in our new situation One way to make sure you aren't running away from problems is to notice whether you are moving towards Something that is exciting in its own right as opposed to something that is appealing only because it's not Where you are now For example,
If you're leaving a city because you feel you can't afford it You could be reinforcing a Poverty mindset and you may find that you're unable to make ends meet in the new city as well It would ultimately be less of an effort to stay where you are and look more deeply into your own financial situation Another example you want to find a job because you don't get along with a colleague Perhaps there's a fresh fresh approach you can take on the matter.
It might be a new way to Look at the conflict or to get another person involved.
Maybe somebody From human resources or a manager or possibly a change in your own attitude towards your colleague You may discover that as you address an issue you can change it by Changing your mindset You may still decide to move or change jobs but it would be an act with a positive intention behind it not an escape and That could make all the difference in your life Looking at the bigger picture of your life goes hand in hand with working with personal change When you felt stuck in a situation and want change trust that it will come whether you push it along or Whether it comes on its own change always happens sometimes we need to dive deeply into our own reserve of patience and During the time we're waiting or preparing for outer life change.
Just keep working on our own Internal shifts Let's take a few moments to just sit quietly Meditate and see if that helps us pull from our reserves of patience Comfortable seated position it could simply be with your feet flat on the floor in your chair and your hands on your lap When you're ready close your eyes and invite a deep breath in so you feel the edges of your lungs and Then let out a slow long sigh When your breath resumes allow it to be as it is just softening your belly enough to Accept each passing breath.
We become very passive now And more like a witness to our own breathing Along with witnessing the breath a good practice is to also Witness the things that are coming and going as you sit quietly Perhaps there's some subtle distant sounds and you just Let the sounds come and go With no reaction You may feel temperature shifts Or perhaps some air movement Just allowing things to move in and out of your perception Remember it's perfectly normal to have thoughts arise Your mind but we witness them from a distance in the same way we witness sound temperature or airflow Ultimately using the breath as an anchor today Feel the way your body expands And contract With silence if it appears that your mind is getting more noisy and having more thoughts Know that that's perfectly normal in the same way we Hear sound come and go In the same way we might feel temperature variation We're just witnessing the mind We're just watching everything that's happening and sitting quietly with patience You You're doing well,
Just give it a few more moments And now gently Starting to come out of the meditation perhaps With the eyes closed you just take in a deeper breath or a stretch Any pain involved in facing our issues is well worth the effort in the end When we face our problems instead of avoiding them we free up our energy and transform ourselves from people who run away into people who move enthusiastically forward I Hope you have a wonderful day
