Begin in a comfortable position,
Whether you're seated upright or lying down on your back.
Take a long breath in,
And as you exhale,
Soften into the points of contact you're making into whatever's supporting you,
Letting go of whatever you've been carrying today,
If just for this moment.
Again,
Find a long breath in,
And a longer,
More cleansing breath out.
One more time,
Really breathing with intention.
As you exhale,
Soften your face,
Your shoulders,
Your hands and feet.
Allow your whole body to be supported as you drop into a neutral rhythm of breath.
Gently become aware of your sensations of breath.
Do a whole body scan,
Starting from the top of your head to the tips of your fingers and toes.
Start to notice where you're holding tension,
And just notice what happens when you notice.
Now that you're more rooted in your body,
Start to imagine what it is you've been carrying.
What is it that you've been hoping for?
Joy,
Purpose,
Love.
And without getting into the logistics of how to get it,
How to get there,
Just imagine you've already found it.
Ask yourself what that would feel like.
Give yourself some time to marinate in those sensations.
Notice is it warm?
Is it expansive?
Do you have a tendency to think too hard about it,
To get into the logistics of how to get there?
But instead,
Just imagining it's already here.
Can you invite those feelings of possibility into your heart?
Your belly?
How does your breath change?
And again,
Just really living in that feeling,
Allowing yourself to marinate in it.
Give yourself full permission to just be here in this feeling.
You don't need to do anything or earn anything.
Just let yourself be.
Allow yourself to savor this very human feeling.
Before your mind wanders,
Come back to the sensations of your breath.
Come back to the details of this sense of possibility.
Before we start to return to your day,
Remind yourself that you are worthy of this.
You are worthy of this feeling of this possibility.
And if there are any thoughts that swoop in saying otherwise,
Imagine a baby worthy of love,
Of joy.
And remind yourself that you too were once a baby.
You are worthy of this perfectly imperfect human.
You are worthy of all the gifts that this life has to offer you.
In carrying that deep knowing within your heart,
Start to invite in small movements into your fingers and toes.
Maybe a little more gently,
A little more joyfully,
A little more mindfully,
Return to your day.
