Anxiety can be really difficult,

So take a moment to pause and connect to your breathing.

Inhale deeply,

And feel the air slowly fill your lungs,

And exhale very slowly.

I've been where you are now,

Caught in the waves of anxiety.

I've hidden away from the world.

It can be so overwhelming,

But know that you are not alone in this journey.

These feelings are part of your story,

And experiencing them takes courage.

So remember this moment,

It's just a part of your path,

It's not your destination.

You're getting to know these feelings,

Understanding them a tiny bit more with each breath.

And this awareness is a brave step towards your healing.

Believe in your strength.

You have faced challenges before,

And you will find a way through this as well.

This battle with anxiety is tough,

But you're not fighting it alone,

And each step you take is a victory.

Be kind to yourself,

Trust in your resilience,

And know that peace is within reach.

You're on a courageous journey,

And you have the strength to navigate through it.

Know that these feelings are temporary,

Just like a storm they will pass,

It will pass.

And while it's here,

Try to acknowledge your anxiety without judging yourself.

You might have thoughts come up that you're weak or hopeless,

It's not the case.

You're here in a powerful storm,

And you can survive this.

This anxiety,

It's just a part of you reacting to stress,

But know that it's really a part of you trying to keep you safe.

It's like an overprotective parent.

And notice,

This might be difficult to understand,

But it's just a feeling.

Know I talk from experience,

Of being where you are,

Terrified,

Hiding away,

In a room where I can't be found.

Cowering from life,

Filled with fear,

But I'm not there anymore,

It truly ends.

And your willingness to meet it,

To try and feel it and understand it,

Will help you to heal and live happily again.

I love this message so much. I spent so long, so many years asking why my anxiety was trying to kill me. Why was it making me think I was dying. And now after our conversations it's much easier to see that it's just my body trying to protect me. Which couldn't be further from what I used to think. I can feel my anxiety, I can recognise it and know it as just over protection and honestly it settles so much quicker. It isn't easy to sit with it and feel it but it is getting easier. Thank you Chris 🙏
