Whenever criticism creeps in,
As it may have a habit of doing,
Think of my voice gently reminding you to be as kind and loving to yourself as you would be to your best friend.
Be as patient with yourself as you would be with a small child learning something new.
Be as nurturing as you would be to a person or animal in need of help.
As we embark on this morning meditation,
Find a comfortable position allowing your body to settle into a state of softness.
Today is dedicated to finding and embracing softness.
Softness within you,
Softness within the world,
Softness within each breath.
If you haven't already,
Gently close your eyes and listen to what is happening within before the critical factory of your mind begins churning thoughts.
Set your intention to be kind to yourself.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Feeling the air fill your lungs,
And exhale slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension or worries.
Whenever the day presents you with harshness,
In words or experiences,
Let the softness of your breath return you to kindness.
Inhale again for a count of four,
Hold for a moment,
And exhale slowly for a count of six.
Feel your breath flowing in and out like the gentle rhythm of waves on the shore.
With each breath,
Imagine a soothing wave of acceptance washing over you,
Elevating your spirit.
Continue this pattern once more at your own pace as you place one hand gently on your heart.
Feel the warmth of love radiating from its source,
Connecting you to the wellspring of compassion that resides within you.
Breathing with ease and a lightness of being,
The sensation of love expands with each inhale and spreads throughout your being with each exhale.
As you visualize this energy of kindness coursing through your body,
These positive affirmations wash over you,
Nurturing the garden of kindness within your heart.
You are worthy of love and respect,
Just as you are.
You are deserving of all the good that life has to offer.
You are strong and capable,
Capable of overcoming any challenges.
You are a beacon of light,
Shining your brilliance into the world.
You deserve to shower yourself with as much love as you put out for others.
You are your most faithful companion,
Showing up every moment of this life for yourself.
You forgive yourself with grace.
You are learning and growing,
And perfection has no place in this journey of self-discovery.
You are enough,
Exactly as you are,
And your worth is immeasurable.
Bask in the energy of these affirmations,
Allowing them to permeate your being.
Feel their gentle embrace,
Recognizing how much easier it is on your nervous system when you are kind to you.
Notice how much better you feel and how much energy you have when you are kind to you.
Throughout the day,
Honor the friendship you have with yourself as this intention weaves through your day,
Reshaping outcomes and experiences in a pleasant way,
As you are kind to you.
As we conclude this morning meditation,
Take a moment to express gratitude to yourself for showing up and for taking this time to nurture your spirit.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and carry the energy of kindness with you throughout your day.
Let kindness be your superpower,
Showing up in every thought,
Word,
And action directed towards you.
Have a wonderful day,
And be the best friend to yourself that you deserve to be.
