Caught In His Web

A personal experience and poem I wrote while being madly in love and feeling all the amazing and scary feelings that come with being in love. Sometimes free and open and sometimes trapped and scared. The web and spider are an analogy to my partner and the love web we and he spun that I found myself inside of.

Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Mesmerized by his siren song, Alluring and luring me in, Tempting and testing me out, Wide-eyed, Open heart, Held closely, Walls dropped, Bursting with excitement, Closer to my dreams, I fall in love, I fall for him, I like it, Yet hiding in the shadows through the deception, Lurks the spider, Crawling towards me, Untangling the strands of where fantasy meets reality, The lines start blurring together, Lost in the projections of his protection, Of the proclamation of love, I am spun in his embrace, Inside-out and upside-down, My smile turns into a frown, His bite is numbing, Confusion sets in, Can't feel anything anymore, Anywhere, My heart slows down, Down, Down, Down, A flash flood of feelings washed away my fears, Drowning in my own pool of tears, At the center of his tapestry, Woven just for me, With no way out, I'm caught in his web.
