Hello,
Welcome,
Opulent mindfulness.
Today's meditation is entitled,
Meet my mate meditation.
Meet my mate meditation.
Now granted,
We can't really marry meditation.
But we certainly can have a very involved,
Intimate,
Holistic,
Comprehensive,
And long lasting relationship with meditation and profound commitment to meditation.
I found at times that when I have a meditation practice,
And I have practiced routinely,
When I meet with friends and people and family and circulate around in my day,
I don't feel such a need to burden people with my troubles or my worries or in a heavy way,
Spew my contents of my mind onto them.
Because I've already confronted that in my meditation.
My meat meditation has heard me out,
Held me,
Listened to me,
Understood me,
Accepted me unconditionally,
Provided space for me to be myself.
Isn't that what we all would seek in an ideal mate?
So coming to the cushion is a beautiful way to befriend your inner self,
Inner voice,
Inner dialogue,
And become mates with your meditation,
Really,
In essence with yourself.
So come to your comfortable seat,
Drop into your bones and take a big belly breath in and a long and soothing breath out.
If you feel safe,
You're welcome to close your eyes.
Dropping into your bones,
Experiencing stillness and simplicity.
In the same way a mate might show up for us,
We can show up for our mate meditation,
Bringing everything to the table,
Sharing in this very private and sacred space,
All that lies within your heart,
Exposing,
Fanning the flames,
This unbridled expression.
Holding space here for yourself and your mate to show up and interact.
Watching,
Listening,
And unconditionally loving your mate.
At the same time,
Your mate is watching and listening and extending unconditional love to you.
Be the mate you wish to have and shape the mate you need.
Feel a sense of softness and freedom in your belly.
Feel a sense of unburdened expression through the chest opening up,
Allowing for vulnerability,
Honesty and even creativity to be exposed here.
Who knows what might surface?
Listen and wait.
Meditation is a beautiful friend that way.
Sometimes when we start talking,
New ideas and discoveries are formed.
Breathing in and breathing out.
With the state of stillness and quietude,
We can hear and feel what's rising up within.
Nothing to be ashamed of,
Nothing to hide or push back down.
All is welcome.
Feel your body.
Where are you holding your tension?
Where are you hiding?
Where are you hurting?
Sit down with your proverbial cup of tea and listen to your friend,
Your mate.
What we all seek and long for is to be loved,
Heard and appreciated.
So show up for yourself.
Show up for your mate.
Meditation.
Take this time to engage,
Express,
Be in union with meditation as your friend,
Your mate.
The more we feed it,
The more it nurtures us.
Where did you go?
Quiet your eyes.
Still your body.
Wait and listen.
And share.
As we share,
We disarm another,
Allowing for a greater flow and exchange of heartfelt sentiments.
Tightening our bond,
Deepening the connection.
Take a big belly breath in and a longer soothing breath out.
Namaste.
