Welcome,
Om Bytes.
Today's meditation is going to focus on this notion of working hard.
Why are we so afraid to work harder?
We're always seeking relief from working.
Holiday,
Weekends,
Happy hour,
Alcohol,
Shopping,
TV.
So how can we embrace this notion of working hard and not being afraid of it and realizing the miracles that happen on the other side of hard work?
I was recently looking at the Forbes cover of the five greatest self-made women of our time and they all share one thing in common and that is hard work.
So let's lean into that a little bit,
Not shy away from it.
And the way we do that is by first sitting in meditation doing nothing.
This power of incubating,
Planting seeds,
Setting divine providence in motion is part of the work.
And when it's divine providence in motion,
This is coming from a place of inspiration and it doesn't feel like work and this recycles energy into our system.
All right,
So come to your very comfortable seat.
All things resting without effort except for your head.
And we'll proceed through a 10-minute guided meditation with time in the middle of silence,
Beginning with the sound of the symbol and concluding the same way.
If you feel safe,
You're welcome to close your eyes or cast your gaze downward at something non-moving.
Relax your body.
Take in a big breath filled with ease and relief and drop into your bones.
So I'd submit it's more difficult to pull your punch than to just follow through with a punch.
And I'm not suggesting to be violent here.
But when we hold back our energy in the name of preserving,
Oh,
Well,
I have enough energy.
Can I really do it?
Maybe my idea isn't that great.
Maybe it won't be perfect.
Emotion drags us down and holds us back.
We are energy beings,
Full,
Ready to bust out and burst forward.
So allow this natural tendency to occur.
As you sit in solitude,
Quietude,
Incubating,
Allow the body to be at ease,
Resting in the non-doing nature of yourself.
Where do you go?
Come back to this moment.
And before we get too far along,
Take a moment to envision your stretch goal.
Pick three areas of your life where you'd like to set goals that are a stretch.
They're uncomfortable and they're going to require some work.
Now the catch is we just plant the seed,
Visualize and then do nothing.
Sit back,
Drop into ease.
Rest your body.
Rest the mental gyrations of the mind.
This will give you time to expand yourselves,
Expand your mind and into this new space will fill energy,
Resource availability.
Notice if you drop into fear,
Snuff it out,
Breathe life into inspiration.
And when we move from a place of inspiration,
We are filled with energy and purpose.
This is a renewable energy that never runs out.
Feel it happening in your body right now.
Good work pushing through,
Not pulling your punches,
Leaning into the discomfort.
One more pause to effort.
Making one more step to research,
Making one more phone call to connect.
It's okay,
It will not hurt you hard work.
And you'll find how much you're supported,
Least of whom is of yourself.
Rest your weary bones.
Wander no more about the day you can finally relax.
That moment is now.
That moment is on the other side of well-deserved rewards through hard work.
And as you sit doing nothing,
Again visualize your stretch goal number one.
And drop into your bones,
Let all of your cells realize this dream coming true now.
Breathe into your body as if you've already achieved your stretch goal.
Believe it.
Breathe it.
And let it become you.
Namaste.
Namaste.
