Welcome back to another meditation to mark the turning of the wheel of the year.
In our meditation today,
We will be bringing the energy of balance into a somatic awareness.
So this meditation can be practiced standing or seated,
Whichever is most comfortable for you.
If possible,
You are also invited to face the north cardinal direction of the earth.
If the sun is out,
You can easily do this by putting the sun on your right side if it is rising and on your left side if it is setting.
Only two days of the year does the sun rise due east and set due west,
And that is on the spring and autumn equinox.
We are now entering the energy of the autumn equinox,
When the day and night,
The light and dark,
Are equally in balance with one another,
And from here where the darkness will grow in strength,
Inviting us inward towards the winter.
When you are ready,
Make yourself comfortable with your feet connected to the earth,
Gently closing your eyes or taking a soft gaze.
Feel the connection between your body and the earth.
Root yourself into the embodied wisdom of Mother Earth,
Allowing yourself to be held by this awareness as you journey through this meditation.
Pull the cyclical wisdom from the warm earth below you up into the soles of your feet,
Into each of your toes,
Your ankles,
Your lower legs,
Knees,
Upper legs.
Pull this energy up into your hips,
Your pelvis,
Your lower belly and lower back,
Your mid belly and mid back,
Up into your chest and upper back.
Bringing that energy up into your shoulders,
Letting it flow down your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Lower arms,
Wrists and hands flowing out to each finger.
Again,
Bringing awareness back to that connection between your body and the earth,
Bringing in more energy up into your neck,
Into your jaw and the back of your head,
Your mouth,
Your nose,
Your ears,
Your eyes and the crown of your head.
Feel this earth grounding energy flow through your entire body,
Feeling the edges of your skin and allow this energy to root you into the present moment.
You are right here,
Right now in the energy of the autumn equinox.
Straight up above you,
Notice the shining sun at their peak time shining down upon you and opening yourself up to fill yourself with the sun's light.
Allow this light to travel down through the crown of your head until this energy reaches every edge of you.
The warm grounded darkness of the earth below and the warm golden light of the sun above are in equal balance within you.
As you move into the autumn season,
As you move into the autumn season,
You notice the sun begins to shift and begins their descent towards the horizon.
With the sun's power waning,
You see all the trees around you change and transition into their autonomous dress,
Showing the full brilliance of red,
Orange,
Yellow and gold.
At this tipping point of transition and transformation between the summer and the winter,
Between the light and the dark,
I invite you to take a moment to pull in the light energy from the four corners of the earth and fill yourself with abundance and a sense of balance.
Come into the awareness of the left side of your body.
If you would like to add some movement to this side of your body to awaken that awareness,
Allow your body to move and flow towards your left side.
Then allow your awareness to extend out beyond yourself towards the west.
Further in the abundance from your past,
Where have you come from this year so far and what are you grateful for?
Pull that energy from the west and all your gratitude from the past and bring it into the center of your body to your core.
And then find stillness.
Bouncing into the right side of your body,
Again inviting in any movement towards the right that feels comfortable.
Then allow your awareness to extend beyond yourself towards the east and gather in the abundance of the future.
What are your dreams and visions to come?
Pull that energy from the east and all your dreams of the future into your body to your core.
And then come to stillness.
Now sensing the back of your body,
Inviting in any movement that awakens the back of your body if that feels all right.
Bring the sun behind you as it descends and warms your back.
Then allow your awareness to travel beyond you and towards the south.
Gather in the abundance of your supportive structures.
Who has and is lovingly supporting you?
How are you supporting yourself?
Pull that energy from the south and all your supportive connections into your body to the core of you.
And then find stillness.
Come to the awareness of the front of your body,
Again inviting in any movement that heightens this awareness of the front of you.
As you face the dark half of the year ahead,
Allow your awareness to travel beyond your body and towards the north.
Gather up the abundance of divine wisdom that will see you through the inner journey ahead.
How is spirit revealing themselves to you?
How are you opening yourself to divine consciousness?
Pull that energy from the north and the connection you have to divine wisdom within you.
Bring this energy into your body,
Into the core of who you are,
And come to stillness.
Balance all of the edges of your body.
Pull that awareness from every edge into your core.
Feel the balance within you,
From left to right,
From east to west,
From the past to the future,
Bringing that energy into your center and being here in the present.
From the back to the front,
From south to north,
From your support to your divine wisdom,
Bring that energy into the core of who you are here in the present.
Feel the abundance,
Gratitude,
And wisdom fill you and hold you at your core so you have the strength and the light to walk forward into the dark half of the year ahead.
Feel yourself change and transform into your own unique brilliance,
Just like the leaves shine their colors for all to see,
Giving us that one last celebration of beauty before letting go and descending to the dark,
Warm earth.
Give yourself permission to celebrate your beauty and abundance and allow it to shine from the core of who you are and then gently,
Softly,
With grace,
Let it all go.
Let your awareness float down to the warm earth again and the connection to your feet and your physical body.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
Sealing in the embodied knowing of this sense of balance and centeredness.
Then gently let your consciousness rise to the surface of the here and now,
Coming back from your journey,
Feeling balanced and supported from all directions for this autumn season.
May you take this inner wisdom with you as you journey through the autumn season towards the darkness of the winter.
