Let's begin by.
.
.
Finding a comfortable seat.
Closing or gently lowering the eyes.
And taking some slow.
Cleansing breaths.
Turning attention inward.
It can be helpful to slow down the breath.
And allow yourself to really feel the sensations.
As you inhale and exhale.
Connecting with your intention for creating this time.
Breathing in your intention.
And breathing out anything you want to let go of.
Feeling the sensations of your feet on the ground.
Imagining a sturdy tree.
With beautiful roots.
Growing out the soles of your feet.
Enacting you into the earth below.
Remembering that you are supported.
Safe.
And held in this present moment.
Noticing how connecting with nature affects your own energy.
Not trying to.
Change.
Or fix anything.
And just noticing.
How does the body feel in this moment?
What happens when I Slow down.
Breathe.
And act with nature.
And tune in to the inner landscape.
Scanning through the body.
Starting at the top of the head.
Bringing gentle,
Loving awareness down.
Softening the forehead.
Those worry lines between the eyebrows.
Inside of the eyes.
The cheeks.
Softening the tongue.
The bottom of the palette.
Even just having the intention to soften.
And make all the difference.
Continuing to connect with the breath.
As you continue to scan down the body.
With non-judgment.
And curiosity.
Feeling the sensations that are here.
Allowing them to be here.
The sensations in the body are a clue to what emotions may be visiting us.
See if you can name.
One or two emotions.
That are here right now.
And as you name these emotions,
May be helpful to remember that.
These emotions are not who you are.
They're not here to stay forever.
And when we turn toward them.
Can be a compassionate response.
Trying to push down.
Think over.
Or criticize ourselves for having emotions.
The natural thing that we do.
And And we allow these emotions and welcome them as guests,
Inviting them for tea.
That allows us to see ourselves.
Can be a way more supportive approach.
Than we're conditioned to do.
So I'll just provide a little space for you to explore the emotions,
Sensations.
Or whatever you feel like focusing your attention on.
In silence for the next minute.
Checking in with yourself.
Noticing how this space.
Has shifted you.
We are always changing.
Noting what thoughts are visiting you in this moment.
It's normal for the brain and mind to wander.
In naming,
I'm having the thought.
And then filling in the blank with whatever it is you're thinking about.
Can be a beautiful way to.
Unhook from.
That swirling thought.
Those repetitive pieces of content that keep coming up.
Similar to when we turn toward emotions and welcome them.
When we become observers of the thoughts.
That can be a really helpful way to support ourselves.
And potentially calm the mind a bit.
Becoming the watcher of the thought.
Is another way that you can.
Make a choice.
About whether you want to believe that thought or not.
Thoughts are optional.
Now that you've taken this time to slow down.
To practice awareness.
I invite you to reflect for a moment.
What do I want to.
Bring forward from this practice.
Well,
We may not always have a choice in how we.
Spend our time.
There may be meetings.
People we've committed to.
We do have agency over how we approach the time with ourselves and others.
Deepa Iyer is a social activist who says,
How we do the work is just as important as what the work is.
So how do you want to.
Do the work today.
How do you want to live today?
Taking a moment before we close to offer yourself so much love and gratitude.
May this practice be of service to you.
And all you encounter.
Taking some nourishing,
Slow breaths again.
Coming back into the room.
Hearing the sounds.
Opening the eyes at your own pace.
Thanks so much for practicing.
