I'm sitting with my guided meditation group and we've come up with the theme of renewal.
So this is a guided meditation for renewal.
Begin by getting comfortable and closing your eyes.
Let's take some deep breaths.
Breathing in life-sustaining energy,
Oxygen,
Breathing in life,
Bringing renewal.
Nice deep breaths.
Feel your chest expand as you breathe.
Let your belly relax and feel the breath moving into your belly.
Breathing in fresh energy that's renewing every cell,
Sustaining life,
And relaxing into the exhalation of the breath,
Letting go of anything that isn't needed.
The breath renews and the breath cleanses.
Now take a few more nice deep breaths.
Now you can allow the breath to return to normal,
Going on its own.
Just notice the easy,
Effortless nature of breathing.
Notice the breath moving in and out.
Just letting the breath go how it goes,
Not trying to change the rhythm.
Life is constantly renewing itself.
The energy of life brings constant change.
Our cells are being renewed.
Every seven years we have a completely new body.
Emotions flow through,
New ones come up.
We experience them and they fade away.
Thoughts come up,
New ones come up.
We experience them and they fade away.
Thoughts come and go.
Everything is new all the time.
Even if it seems familiar,
It's new each time.
Every moment,
Every minute,
Every day is new.
Simply being aware of whatever is being experienced right now.
Knowing that the mind,
The body are constantly in a state of renewing,
Changing.
The sun disappears at night and it's dark.
It comes up in the morning and brings light for a new day.
Let's remember in this meditation that things are always different.
So we won't hold on to ideas about how things are and how they're going to be.
Thinking that what happened in the past is what will happen again.
Anything can happen.
We can put our attention on what we want.
We can see things differently and shine the light of our consciousness differently on our lives.
We can let go of what isn't wanted,
Allowing what's new to grow.
Bring your attention to the sensations in your body.
Simply notice what you're experiencing in your body.
Notice how the experience changes,
Shifts.
Everything is moving,
Changing.
See if you can notice energy,
The feeling of energy in your body.
Maybe it's the wakefulness that's present.
Or maybe you'll feel some energy,
It could even be restlessness.
But find something that you would call energy.
Allow your attention to be on that.
The energy of life is moving everything.
Breathe that in and feel that energy enlivening every cell in your body,
Every part of your body,
From your head to your toes.
You might even notice a sort of a vibration or hum.
That energy is bringing renewal.
Feel that,
Feel how new cells are being born and created.
Let the new cells be filled with that energy of life.
And if anything comes into your awareness that seems like some old habit of thinking,
Just surrender that to this energy of renewal.
Let it dissolve in the energy of renewal,
Let it go.
If there's some emotion present that's difficult,
Allow it to be present.
Relax into it.
Know that it's come up in the wisdom of life and serves a purpose.
And you can embrace it as part of the process of life.
And as you allow the energy of that emotion to be there,
It can pass through,
Accomplish its purpose,
And leave more of your energy free for what's new,
For what you can welcome into your life.
You can take some time now to imagine something in your life that you would like to have renewed.
It could be something in your body,
A relationship,
Something in your home,
Your work.
Let that situation come into your awareness and simply let it be permeated by that energy of life.
And allow yourself to experience how that's shifting and changing.
You don't have to think about all the details or work on the details.
Just allow the life energy to move through that situation and see how it shifts.
The life energy cleanses out what isn't needed,
Washes away the old structures.
The life energy nourishes new possibilities.
So continue now for a few minutes with whatever situation came to mind.
And if that finishes,
You can go to something else.
I'll give you a few minutes to do that.

Now let's take some time to simply sit in that life energy.
Again,
Feeling it throughout your body and every cell.
You can feel it expanding around you,
Expanding out into your entire life,
The lives of those you love.
Just enjoy that energy and knowing it is taking care of things.
And now we'll start to very slowly come out of meditation.
Knowing that we'll take this energy with us through our day.
Bring your attention fully into your body,
Feeling the density,
The weight of it.
You can see how your body might want to stretch and move.
So just gradually becoming more active.
Taking your time and when you feel ready,
You can open your eyes.
