Welcome and Namaste.
I am sitting outside here beneath the big maple tree and I welcome you to place or imagine yourself in your favorite natural scenery.
Although distractions like the sound of a car passing or a noise from the next room may arise,
I invite you to do your best to limit those in advance.
You may also welcome your non-judgmental awareness of each sensation as an opportunity to gain comfort with the uncomfortable.
To hone your skills as a meditator,
You may rest gently in the understanding that this exercise is a practice,
Not a perfect.
Let's begin.
As you explore the sense of comfort or discomfort,
As you explore the sense of comfort or discomfort in your body,
You may ask yourself what adjustments,
If any,
Might feel good right now.
Allow space to honor the information you receive.
Now drawing your attention to your breathing,
I invite you to become the non-judgmental observer,
The witness of each breath.
Researching the beginning of your next inhalation as if you were a tiny,
Tiny bird.
A tiny molecule of air.
And exploring the nature of your next exhalation,
Welcoming it to be as it is.
What pace,
Temperature,
Sounds,
Or rhythms do you notice?
As you continue to breathe in and out,
I will offer a few mantras for you to follow along with or to simply listen.
So,
Let's begin.
I invite you to listen to Breathing in,
I am here.
Breathing out,
It is now.
Breathing in,
I am breathing in.
Breathing in,
My breath expands.
Breathing out,
My breath contracts.
I invite you to take notice of how you are feeling now.
You may like to choose your favorite one of these mantras as a tool to stick with you throughout your day.
Write it down or hang it up.
These mantras are available to you anytime you want to reconnect to your breath and to yourself.
Thank you for tuning in to my meditation from underneath the big maple tree.
With a warm smile,
I wish you radiance,
Love,
And light.
