Namaste.

To begin,

You may invite yourself to settle in to a safe,

Comfortable place,

Seated in a chair,

On a cushion,

Or lying down.

Start to soften the grasp of thought and settle in to the flow of breath.

Inhales,

Pour in and rise up.

Exhales,

Pour out and empty down.

Now,

Draw your awareness into your next breath as if it is the most interesting and exciting thing happening right now.

Tune in to the rhythm,

Pace,

And temperature of your breath.

Notice any physical sensations,

Vibrations,

Or emotions that are present.

As you get to know your breath better,

I welcome you to listen in closely as it shares its quiet secrets with you.

What do you notice?

How do you feel?

Is your breath deep or shallow,

Fast or slow?

Are you happy,

Tired,

Or worried?

Allow your breath to be as it is and you as you are,

Simply observing these subtle nuances of yourself without judgment.

As you continue to form and nourish your connection with your breath,

You may even begin to sense the trust that exists between you and it.

Knowing that even when you are not consciously giving it your full attention,

It will keep you safe and alive.

Breathing in fresh energy and breathing out that which is no longer needed.

Each day and every night,

You may bring in the mantra,

I am breathing in and I am breathing out.

I am breathing in.

I am breathing out.

May you breathe in all good things,

Peace,

Connection,

And balance.

And may you breathe out any tension,

Worry,

Or fear.

May you be at ease here in this steady cycle,

Gently rocked by each wave of breath.

In,

Out.

In and out.

Waves of breath go in and out.

Whenever you to reconnect,

Remember to call upon your inner compassionate observer who skillfully engages with life one breath at a time.
