These days we all wear many hats.
This practice is intended to assist you as you transition from one role to another throughout your day.
Take a moment to settle into your body.
Breathing easily in and out.
Feel the sensation of the air as it comes into your nostrils.
As it expands through your ribcage.
And into your belly.
Good.
Now it's time to have some fun with this practice.
I'd like for you to create images in your mind of hats.
Hats that represent the roles you fill in a given day.
Each hat should have a different feel and style.
Feel free to be as creative as possible.
Think of the types of hats you may have.
The shapes.
Colors.
Textures.
Each hat having its own personality and function.
But also be sure to make them comfortable.
I'll let you in on a little secret.
These hats are special.
They contain the thoughts that go along with a role that they help you to fulfill.
When you are ready to move from one role to another,
Simply allow your hat to soak up the thoughts and information you need to retain.
And then you are free to enter your next role without the heavy burden of the previous one.
I would like you to consider taking a moment sometime today to find a medium that you feel would help you represent these hats.
Whether you find sketching,
Graphic design,
Watercolor,
Collage,
Or any other medium suitable.
Taking the time to represent these images will help you to solidify this practice and return to it often.
Remember that these images are of your own making and are imbued with all of the qualities that you currently possess as well as those that you are growing into.
