It's bedtime now.
Time to snuggle into bed and let your eyes softly close.
Let's take three deep breaths together.
Ready?
Good.
Notice how warm and safe and comfortable you feel.
Keeping your eyes closed,
Allow your mind now to travel with the sound of my voice.
Beneath you,
Your bed has transformed into a plush soft bed of green grass.
Nearby,
You hear the rush of water,
Though you can't see it.
As you look around,
You notice beautiful flowering trees.
The sweet fragrance of the flowers floats to you on the currents of the air.
You find yourself sitting on your legs with your arms at your sides.
But wait,
They're no longer arms,
But big beautiful wings.
As you spread them,
You see shimmering feathers of blue and green.
You start to move your neck and find that it is quite long and elegant.
You can feel a crown of long feathers atop your head.
As you stand,
You feel the weight of your body being held up by two strong but thin legs with clawed feet.
You are so curious about how you look that you decide to run towards the sound of the water to see if you can catch a glimpse of your reflection.
As you run,
You get a sensation of something behind you.
It strangely feels like a part of you,
Almost like a shadow that is connected.
You look behind you to find a long train of feathers grazing the ground as you run.
You are now even more eager to get to the water,
So you stretch out your wings and take flight.
The sensation of flying brings you immense joy.
Though you cannot fly very high,
You still have the sensation of air surrounding your body and the freedom that comes from leaving the ground.
You see the rushing river just ahead of you and you land gracefully by its side.
As you walk regally towards the still water at the edge of the river,
Each step is filled with excitement.
You lower your head to peek into the reflective surface of the water.
You see your beautiful face and long blue and green neck.
Your eyes are small and black,
Surrounded by a mask of tiny white feathers.
Your beak is short and pointed.
As you turn your head from side to side to look at yourself from different angles,
You notice the long thin feathers atop your head.
They look a little like flowers,
Long stems with blooms at the top,
And as you move,
They appear to be dancing.
In your excitement,
You start to feel something happening in your back.
As you look into the water,
You start to notice something moving behind you,
And you see that an incredible fan of feathers is opening and framing your face in the reflection.
You turn and see that the train of feathers has now unfolded in ornate feathers of green and white and blue shimmer.
It almost feels like you're at the water with friends as you see the many feathers that look like eyes looking back at you.
A gentle breeze tickles your feathers,
And you notice movement beside you.
You turn to look and see beautiful delicate flowers swirling in the air,
Dropped from a towering tree.
You focus on one flower.
It's pink and white blossom floating in the air,
Descending slowly while spinning and dancing.
It lands without a sound on a bed of flowers that have also dropped from the tree.
The bed of flowers looks so inviting.
You walk over to it and perch atop the flowery bed.
The sweet scent of flowers fills your beak.
You start to feel a deep sense of relaxation come over you from the feathers that make your crown down your back,
Into your body,
Down your legs and feet,
And even into your long train of feathers.
You let your eyelids become heavy and gently let them closed.
Your breathing becomes deep and soft and effortless.
You are completely comfortable lying in the sun beneath the tree,
Breathing in the smell of the water and the flowering trees and the earth.
The muscles in your body release and you feel fully supported by the ground beneath you.
You are completely relaxed and you let yourself drift off to sleep.
Good night little peacock.
