Thank you for joining me and for taking the time to honor and nurture yourself.
Take a moment to settle into your space.
Whether seated or lying down and with your eyes gently closed,
Think of the space that you have created.
Open your senses to the qualities of this space,
Enveloping you,
Holding you,
Opening you to yourself.
Let's take a moment to practice a bit of gratitude.
You have shown up.
You have set aside time and created space for your very worthy self.
You are here.
You are supported.
You are grounded.
You are safe.
Let's bring your awareness now to your head,
More specifically to your gray matter,
The control center of your organism.
Imagine that the circuitry of the brain is visible to you.
In your mind's eye,
Imagine the flashes of synapses as you listen to this meditation.
Take a moment to appreciate the incredible capability of your mind.
Right now,
This amazing bundle of cells is telling your heart to beat,
Your lungs to expand and contract.
It's interpreting these words.
It's creating awareness.
It's connecting internally and externally in a kind of omniscience.
Thank you,
Brain.
Now to your eyes.
Your eyes behold the world for you.
Think of some beautiful images that your eyes have seen for you.
Think of how your eyes express emotion and intent to others for you.
Think of the precious moments that your eyes have brought to you.
Thank you,
Eyes.
Your nose.
Your nose brings you the most amazing scents,
The smell of your favorite foods,
The unique scent of your home,
The smell of flowers and grass and rain.
Thank you,
Nose.
And now to your ears.
Think of some of the sounds that are precious to you.
The voices of loved ones,
The sound of the ocean,
The chirp of birds in springtime.
Thank you,
Ears.
Your face.
Your face is one of a kind.
Your face is beautiful.
Your face expresses how you feel,
What you think,
Your meaning and intent.
Your face is how your loved ones recognize you.
Thank you,
Face.
And now to your skeleton.
Take a moment to walk your mind through your skeleton,
Even those tiny bones in your ears.
While your skeleton is incredibly strong,
It is also flexible,
A truly magnificent structure that literally supports you in life.
Thank you,
Skeleton.
Your muscles.
Your muscles move you.
This is no small feat.
Your muscles allow you to do incredible things.
Sit,
Stand,
Walk,
Dance,
Hug,
You name it.
They are responsible for your facial expressions.
They are responsible for your ability to write,
Speak,
Sing,
Play.
Thank you,
Muscles.
Your shoulders,
Arms and hands.
They help you carry things.
Because of them,
You can hold your favorite items.
You can hold hands and paws.
You can wield tools and make things.
Thank you,
Shoulders,
Arms and hands.
Now your chest.
Your precious heart is in there,
Protected by your ribs and oxygenated by your lungs.
Your heart beats just for you,
Just because.
Let's take three deep breaths to really feel and appreciate the capability of your lungs.
Thank you,
Chest.
Ah,
Your abdomen.
Your abdomen does so much for you.
It digests your food for the nourishment of your body.
This is where your body cleanses your system of toxins.
Your core muscles are here,
Supporting your every move.
Thank you,
Abdomen.
Your hips,
Legs and feet.
They carry you through your life.
They are your connection to the ground.
They allow you to stand tall in your truth.
Think of all of the gifts you have experienced from your hips,
Legs and feet.
Thank you,
Hips,
Legs and feet.
Now think of the whole of you.
Take a moment to hold your body in whatever manner feels most comfortable.
Send some love to all of your body.
How might you show love to your organism throughout your day?
As we close the practice,
Allow the breath to return to its natural rhythm and perhaps scan the body to notice how your sensations or emotions may have changed in the course of this practice.
Thank you for taking this time to show yourself some appreciation.
Remember to return to this or any self-love practice daily to improve your relationship with yourself.
