Welcome to this facts and stories body scan.
This is going to be a little bit different than your traditional body scan where I'm going to invite you to simply notice what's coming up in your body not needing to soften or change or send energy,
Just noticing it.
And then I want you to see what sensations or facts are coming up versus stories.
So I'll give you a quick example.
If I were to scan down,
Perhaps I might notice that the sun is on the right side of my face.
I might notice that I'm feeling a little bit of tension in my throat.
I might notice a breeze coming from the right side as well.
Those are all sensations or facts,
But I might also notice some stories of what's coming up.
Perhaps if I feel the sun on my face,
I might also notice the story of,
Am I going to get sunburn?
Do I need to get a hat?
I don't want to get overheated.
That would be a story.
If you notice a tightness in your throat,
Perhaps there's a story about not speaking up recently,
Feeling a stuckness in that chakra and feeling like you've got some work to do to release it and be able to speak your truth.
This is your invitation to be able to scan your body for those sensations or facts and the stories that you may have associated to them.
So let's begin.
Starting at the top of your head,
Just noticing without needing to change anything,
Down through your head,
Through your face,
Your jaw,
Your neck,
Your shoulders,
The tops of your arms,
Bottoms of your arms and hands.
Just noticing those stories,
Noticing the sensations and not needing to change anything.
Now back up to your chest,
The top of your back,
Bottom of your back,
Your belly,
Your seat,
Tops of your legs,
Bottoms of your legs,
And all the way down to your feet.
Just noticing those stories.
Just noticing the sensations and not needing to change anything.
Now I want to invite you to place your hand on one part of your body that spoke to you,
Whether it was a sensation,
A story,
Or both,
And ask that part of your body,
What wisdom do you have for me now?
Once you have your answer,
Bring a smile to your face in gratitude,
Knowing your body is constantly giving you information that's going to serve you.
What a gift.
Come back to this practice anytime you want to get more grounded in the present moment,
More connected to your body,
And able to pull out this incredible wisdom that exists within.
