Hi,

This is Meg Rinaldi and welcome to Body Centered Inquiry and welcome to this meditation I call the Golden Igloo Meditation or the Igloo of Light.

This is a practice I've offered to clients in sessions and each time I do,

You ask for a recording.

So here it is.

The intent here is to engage embodied imagination,

To strengthen our boundaries and release emotionally unhealthy ties we have to people in a way that is compassionate to us and to them.

I'll be guiding you through this as if you're sitting.

If you must lie down,

Then please do.

Know it is a process that requires your active engagement,

Your active imagination.

Please come to sit in a place where you're comfortable,

Safe,

Warm and will not be disturbed.

Be aware of your sit bones,

Your feet on the floor.

If you're sitting cross-legged,

Be aware of where your legs and ankles cross and how they touch.

Have good support behind yourself if you need it.

And begin to settle in.

Be aware of your breathing.

Close your eyes softly.

Rest your hands comfortably,

Your arms comfortably.

Allow your awareness to shift more deeply to body sensation and drop deeper into yourself.

And do know that if I'm moving more quickly than you move,

Then you can pause the audio and linger any place you like.

Bring your awareness to your inner sight.

And in your mind's eye,

Imagine yourself walking.

And in the distance,

Maybe 10 or 20 yards ahead of you,

You see an igloo-shaped building,

Aglow with light.

You walk toward this domed structure because you're curious.

And as you get close to it,

You see there's a door.

You open the door.

And as soon as you do,

You are awash in beautiful light.

It's a building made of glass and it's solid.

And the light glows through it.

In the center of this structure,

You notice there's two chairs facing one another.

And you walk to one of the chairs and sit down.

You notice the floor glows with light.

The round walls glow with light.

The domed ceiling everywhere is this warm,

Comfortable,

And brilliant light.

Now bring to mind someone who drains your energy.

Someone you know you have to learn to relate to in a more emotionally healthy way.

It could be a boss,

An ex-employer,

A lover,

A partner,

A business partner,

A child,

A parent,

A friend.

Anyone with whom you know there is an energetic imbalance.

Could be a political leader too.

Notice who wants to come forward and go with that.

Go with the first person who comes to mind.

Notice body sensations that arise when that person comes to mind.

And know that you're safe here and you have free will.

You are free to get up and leave at any time.

If you can stay with it,

I encourage you to do that.

Now you're sitting across from this person.

You're sitting together at whatever is a safe distance for you in this domed building of light.

You acknowledge one another with a bow or a nod.

Something simple.

And then look down at your body and notice where this person has left energetic attachments on your body.

I think of them as little energetic suction cups attached,

Hooked with cords that connect you to them.

And those cords are connected into them with those same kind of little suction cups.

Take your time to see where they're connected to you.

There might be only a few.

There might be many.

And one by one,

Gently begin to release them.

Unplug them from your body.

And one by one,

Plug that little suction cup into the floor,

Into the domed ceiling,

Into the wall.

Wherever it is easy for each cord to reach.

Take your time here and scan through yourself and gently but deliberately unplug each cord and plug it into light itself.

So the person is slowly reconnected to their true source of life,

Vitality and energy.

They're no longer drawing it from you,

But from the source of life,

The source of light.

You are taking care of you and you are taking care of them in a good way.

Continue unplugging these cords from yourself and plug them into source,

Into light until you feel complete.

Take your time here.

This is the heart of this meditation.

One by one,

Each little suction cup is unplugged from you and plugged into source,

Into light,

Into life itself.

And when you feel complete,

Sit quietly and simply for a few moments.

And again,

If you need to pause the audio,

You need more time,

Then please do that.

Breathing,

Being aware of your body sensations.

Notice how you feel in yourself now as you look across at this person being nourished by source.

And when you're ready,

Again bow or nod,

Acknowledge that person in some kind way,

And then get up,

Walk toward the door.

Take a look back at them as they bask in the light and are deeply nourished.

You are no longer their source of life,

Energy or vitality.

Open the door,

Walk out and close the door behind you and begin to walk away from this igloo of light,

Knowing you can return anytime.

Come back to your sit bones,

Your breathing,

Your body in the chair,

The room around you.

Again,

Take your time.

Wiggle your toes and fingers.

You could sit quietly,

Perhaps make some notes,

Give a prayer of thanks.

And thank you.

That's the end of this session.
