The concept of emptiness,
Shunyata,
Is another of the great foundations of Buddhism.
Along with the form there is emptiness,
Meaning that the substratum of this world of shapes and colors is insubstantial.
We could rather consider it as a play of light and energy.
As we see in the Flammarion's engraving,
That other reality is there,
Or better said,
Here.
We just have to lift the veil on consciousness.
Keeping emptiness in mind is a big step toward detachment,
Toward our longed for freedom.
If we manage to recognize in all appearances the non-dual and unborn nature,
We will not feel easily hurt,
The passions will not manipulate us,
Contact with this essence produce joy and confidence.
The acoustic waves that are reaching you give evidence of the spaciousness that surrounds you.
From there,
The amplitude around you is infinite,
And your body and everything around you insubstantial.
Perhaps you are experiencing a certain feeling of lightness.
With in this sense of fluidity and unity.
