Welcome to Meditation Rocks!
I'm Lucy and today we are going to have a bit of a guided meditation which is perfect for any time of the day or night when you just want to kind of get away from it all and just go to another land quite frankly and still have the presence of being in the moment.
So go and get yourself comfortable and let's get started.
So this meditation is a guided meditation which is kind of like I'm telling you a bit of a story and as we go through the guided meditation you will be asked to pause every now and again and take some nice deep breaths and be aware of the moment in which we're in but sometimes people find guided meditations are so relaxing that they fall asleep so don't worry about that either.
So if you're somewhere comfortable we'll get started but you might be choosing to sit or lie down for this meditation.
So when you're ready just closing your eyes or softening your gaze and just take a moment to arrive here for your meditation practice today and just letting go of whatever's happened so far letting go of anything we're thinking about for the future and we're just going to try and have this moment for yourself.
So this guided meditation takes you into a forest a forest where we are safe and inspired by nature and don't worry if you don't see pictures just try and imagine you're with me in the forest today and just having a sense of being there rather than what you can see.
So just take a moment to settle down and to begin to focus your attention inwards on yourself and now just connecting with your breath not looking to change anything about the way that we breathe but just to have an awareness of our breath just feel your breath rise and fall within the body and as you're breathing out just letting go of anything you don't need anything that's not serving you and now let's just imagine that we're standing together on the edge of the forest up ahead we can see the great expanse of trees we can already feel the coolness of the breeze the temperature change from being near the forest and up ahead we see a little path that will take us through the center of the forest so as we begin to walk towards the forest we feel the crunch of the path beneath our feet as we walk closer we begin to feel the presence of the trees which have been in the forest for hundreds of years as we walk closer becomes a little darker and a little cooler and the trees go up from the sides of us the great big trunks of tree and the branches the canopy above us and the sunlight gently dances through the branches as there's a gentle breeze in the forest we're just going to take a few deep breaths here and just feel the freshness the coolness of the forest and you are safe and you are happy to be in nature and as you stand here you can hear the birds singing you can see the birds flying from tree to tree and hear the gentle rustling of the trees almost like they're whispering to you as we walk a little deeper there are expanses where the sunlight shines brighter and you feel the warmth on your face and you close your eyes you look up towards the Sun to feel the sunlight on your cheeks and your forehead and you feel comforted and warm and as we walk a little further deeper in to the forest we see some of the animals that live there playing joyfully in the sunlight and you begin to hear the gentle sound of water you're not sure where it's coming from at this point but you just hear the gentle sound of rushing water so you go and explore and you find a beautiful stream bubbling over the rocks and as the water flows over the rocks it almost looks like glitter as the water sparkles in the sunlight and again you feel the coolness of the temperature change from being near water fresh cool breeze so you take some nice deep breaths in here feeling this cleanliness this coolness of being near running fresh water you decide to take your shoes and socks off and just paddle in the stream for a few moments just wiggling your toes and feeling alive and connected to water and to nature and then you begin to take your self out of the water and to put your shoes and socks back on once your feet are dry and just continue the walk through the forest and the forest is quite dark but you see up ahead that the forest opens up and the light becomes brighter and you're naturally drawn to this open expanse beyond the forest so you walk a little further and you realize when you get to the edge of the forest that there is a lake and you stand on the edge of the lake and you're the only person around it's this great expanse of calm water with hills and mountains in the distance and as you stand here on the edge of the lake you realize that you feel this great sense of connection to nature and to the planet in which you live and as you stand still you almost imagine that you have roots like the trees that you are grounded and strong and still and just take a few moments now to reflect on your connection with nature and to your planet on which you live and just take some nice deep breaths now and feel grounded and rooted in this moment and I'll talk to you again in just a couple of minutes time you you you you if your mind begins to want to just bring your attention back inwards to your breath and just starting to allow the breath to return to a comfortable rhythm and flow as you begin to allow the images and the presence of being in nature to fade but to keep this feeling in your hearts of connection and feeling grounded and you might like to start to move a little wiggling fingers and toes and eventually bringing your hands together thumbs together giving the hands a little rub creating some heat and placing my hands over the eyes and blinking the eyes open into darkness and warmth and removing your hands when you're ready and I'm here and hopefully that's a bit different a guy's meditation is sometimes nice if you just want to escape everything and be with your imagination or just be transported somewhere else for a while I hope you enjoyed it and it was a useful part of your day and I'll see you again very soon take care
