Hello,
Welcome.
My name is Lew Redman.
Thank you so much for listening.
Today's message is really intended to help get you into momentum with the things that are important in your life.
And especially if you're someone who likes to think that everything that they want in life is just going to be attracted to them,
That they just have to meditate more.
I can fall guilty sometimes or I have fallen guilty to that in my past.
And this message is really the intention to,
Yes,
Honor that the way that we feel is important.
And yes,
That things do come into our life when they're meant to.
But also there's the other half.
There's the half that we need to step into.
And instead of attracting,
We can start acting.
And there was a beautiful example of this at this year's Grammy Awards.
Pharrell Williams,
Who if you don't know Pharrell,
Pharrell is one of the most accomplished artists of his generation.
He's a producer,
Rapper,
Singer,
Designer,
Philanthropist.
He has an amazing body of work.
And as he accepted the Dr.
Dre Global Impact Award,
The crowds jaw dropped when he said he was 52 years old.
He credits his youthful energy to the fact that he gets to do what he loves every day.
Sounds like a sentiment you and I would agree with.
Doing what we love is why we go on our spiritual journeys.
It's why we want to bring our gifts into the world.
It's why we do things that are meaningful to us,
Whether that be in your work,
In your business,
Or just in your hobbies.
It's that energy of,
Yeah,
I'm doing what I've been put on this earth to do.
And so you think Pharrell is someone we should listen to about how do we do the things that we love.
And in the speech,
Pharrell gave his lengthy advice on how we too can achieve great things.
He said,
Work.
Pharrell,
Really?
Work?
Is that it?
Not wait for the full moon to set your intentions?
Repeat these 10 affirmations every morning?
Align with your highest timeline and you'll grow rich?
No,
Pharrell didn't mention any of those.
Dang.
He just said,
Work.
Never stop working.
Could it be that simple?
Could success actually come from working harder instead of vibrating higher?
In the age of self-care glorification,
Hard work gets labeled toxic hustle culture.
But I know more people depressed from lack of work than from too much.
Plus,
If you see Pharrell,
You'll see that 52 year old does not look like he's burnt out.
All hard work is not equal.
When you love what you do,
You willingly endure the pain and the process to find success.
You make an effort to overcome your doubt and perfectionism in service of your calling.
You take action,
Fail,
Learn,
Iterate,
Try again,
Repeat until you succeed.
I want you to take this mantra on motion beats meditation.
I'm not saying to give up your practices or affirmations.
I still do them.
I'm saying you actually have to put in the work,
Create,
Ship,
Refine,
Get better.
Whatever that might mean for you.
Maybe you're a writer and you have to show up to write your book.
Maybe you work for a nonprofit and you're trying to raise funds and you need to keep having new proposals and pitching and getting rejected over and over again.
Whatever meaningful work is for you,
Whatever that you love to do,
You have to take action because it's through action that you learn,
That you get feedback,
That you get better.
It's not going to happen just from sitting on our meditation cushion and attracting the things into our life.
We have to meet God halfway.
We have to get into motion because motion builds momentum.
Momentum builds energy.
And then we get redirected.
We get redirected to where our paths going to go.
And it doesn't happen by sitting around.
It happens by trying things and failing.
And in my journey,
I'm continuing to try new things.
And I just failed at another thing that I tried to put into the world.
And it's okay because it's in the failure that I say,
Well,
I guess this is not the thing.
Let's redirect or let's make this different.
Let's make it better next time.
So I hope this encourages you to practice,
To fail,
To get into action.
Emotion beats meditation.
Try it on,
Especially if you've been taking things easy.
Maybe see what happens when you put some more effort.
And again,
Like that's what actually makes us super fulfilled is putting in hard work.
When we get done with a day of hard work,
Man,
It feels really good.
Whether it works out or not,
It feels good.
So go work at your thing.
I'm sending you so much love.
I'm rooting for you.
And yeah,
Let me know what it is that you're working on in the comments.
I love to hear from you.
And I look forward to connecting with you again soon.
And if you're looking for more motivation to bring your gifts into the world,
I encourage you to explore two different courses.
One of my courses called Develop Unshakable Confidence.
That's if you're needing more trust in your path.
And the other one,
If you're just early on trying to figure out what it is that you want to do,
I have a course called Learn to Do Work You Love.
And I think that could be another place for you to find some source of inspiration or guidance.
So thank you so much.
And we'll chat soon.
