Welcome to this meditation,

The lantern festival,

Finishing with a beautiful sleep.

Let's begin.

Let's begin first with yourself in the bedroom,

And on the bed.

Please prepare your pillow by squeezing and getting it really fluffy and big.

Time to snuggle up in bed,

Sink the head into your beautiful pillow,

And yawn if you wish.

Count down to a starry and sleep.

So at the count of three,

Close one eye.

One,

Two,

Three.

And at the count of two,

Close the other eye.

One,

Two.

Comfortable and still now,

The lantern story begins.

Later tonight is lantern night,

So you must quickly make one lantern from paper,

And your candle will be given later to help it reach the sky.

It's quite important,

The lantern festival,

For all the children will send their personal wishes up to the higher heavens.

So it's time to know what you really want.

Make sure you think of something really good,

Really important just for you.

But you must also wish for something really good for someone else,

Or something good for the world we live in.

Please pick your favourite colours,

And decide the shape it will make.

Put your message on it for you and another thing.

Then make your way on the journey to the long island of Hong Kong.

Most children will need first a bus ride to get there.

In a sense you will be moving with a crowd of children,

Very happy,

Very smiling children.

Sit on the bus and keep a hold of your lantern and your wishes.

Music on the bus makes the journey go quicker.

This bus takes you to the airport to board the plane.

Upon the plane the singing begins.

Singing about wishes and songs about the ocean,

The sand and the biggest moon of all year.

The plane lands in Hong Kong.

It's really warm here.

Then one more bus to catch now,

For the ferry awaits for all the children with their magical lanterns to take them to the island of Chung Chow.

The ferry ride is most fun for it's getting late and a lovely moon is rising,

A big one,

That creates so much moonshine.

And the stars look brighter on the open sea,

For the magic is beginning.

The sky stars mirror themselves in the big blue sea.

And reaching the island looks so cute,

For it's all lit up like a toy town.

Snacks are at the harbour,

Sweet and savoury,

For there will be a night picnic on the beach to come.

Everyone picks up their picnic box and march like a long caterpillar down to the beach.

Marching and singing down to the beach,

For the magic hour to release them all.

Should be a good half a million just like last year.

Because everyone likes different colours,

The bigger picture is going to be amazing.

It's so colourful,

One of the most beautiful things you will ever see.

And for luck a quick dip in the sea or a paddle will do.

Starting the beach picnic and making time for some sand castles.

And then,

Only then,

Once you have been given your candle,

Will the lanterns all hit the sky together.

The countdown begins from ten to zero as you light the candle in your lantern.

Of course the moon is shining bright so big.

The stars are everywhere.

Silence begins the countdown listening ten to zero.

Lanterns ready.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight,

Nine,

Ten.

Look,

Look at your lantern all lit up by candle light.

And then the lift of a ginormous amount of lanterns rise in the sky.

The night sky turns all different colours.

Waving them on and singing the lantern song of good wishes for yourself and something good for someone else.

This is a very warm night on the beach.

It is the perfect night indeed.

And when you are ready,

When all is done,

Please snuggle on the beach itself to fall asleep.

A beautiful magical sleep.
