A clean slate,
What does that mean to you?
Forgiveness especially self-forgiveness is simple but not easy.
Forgetting about others for now,
Can you commit to forgiving yourself each day this week?
Wipe the slate clean,
Start over.
Forgive yourself for whatever you said and did today and start afresh tomorrow.
It might feel weird to do this but you can say I forgive myself quietly to yourself.
For extra credit you can add I love myself and I accept myself if you feel like it.
We are human and humans make mistakes.
It's good to learn from them and then let them go.
It's how we grow,
It's a natural process even if sometimes an uncomfortable one.
Forgive yourself,
Wipe the slate clean each evening,
Be kind to yourself and know that you are doing the best you can in sometimes difficult circumstances.
Even if remembering something makes your toes curl with embarrassment or shame,
It's okay we've all been there,
Forgive yourself,
Learn and start anew.
Okay,
Take three huge deep breaths in through your nose,
Deep into your belly and sigh it out letting the day float away from you.
Take some gentle stretches,
Tell yourself a few more times that all is forgiven and you are safe with yourself,
Free from berating yourself and being mean to yourself.
Nurture your most important relationship,
That with your own sweet self.
You can also forgive the other people in your life for any minor annoyances or missteps they have made.
If there are big issues then I'm afraid that's beyond what we are here to do but make a mental note to address this at a later date,
Try and put it behind you and allow yourself to go to your rest with as much forgiveness as you can muster.
Check in with your body,
Do a quick scan and make sure your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your belly and your hands are all relaxed.
As you breathe in try and feel self-appreciation fill your body,
Hold for a moment and as you breathe out feel a wave of relaxation move from your head to your toes.
Breathe in self-forgiveness,
Breathe out and relax.
Breathe in self-love,
Breathe out and relax.
Breathe in self-acceptance,
Breathe out and relax.
Now it is time to let your breathing return to normal,
Listen to the music and drift gently off to sleep.
