Thank you for joining me in this guided meditation.
I want to begin by welcoming you to this safe space.
It can be hard to find spaces that feel safe as a parent,
And although thousands of babies are born into this world each and every day,
Having a child who struggles with sleep can feel like an incredibly lonely experience,
And it can feel as if the more you try to control the situation,
The more control it has over you.
But I want you to know that you are not alone,
And by simply being here today,
You are already one step closer to finding peace.
So finding yourself in a comfortable position now,
Do feel free to lie down for this practice and should you drift into a sleep,
Know that the affirmations will have the desired outcome on your subconscious mind.
If you have been already closing down your eyes,
And as you do,
You feel a weight lift off your body,
And as you start to take some deep breaths,
In and out at your own pace,
I want you to visualize a beach.
The sun is setting,
And you're lying on the sand.
There's something special about this beach.
It brings you this sense of calm and ease that you don't think you've felt to this level before.
You feel the warm air on your skin,
And as you lay there,
You notice waves are beginning to trickle up closer to your feet.
You know the water can have no harm over you,
Its purpose is simply to help you relax now.
And with that thought,
You feel the tide trickle over your toes,
Your feet,
Your arms,
Your shins,
And as it does,
You feel a deep sense of relaxation in this part of your body.
And as the tide retreats again back over your shins,
Your calves,
Your feet and your toes,
You experience double the relaxation feeling now.
The water makes its way back up,
And now reaches your knees,
Your thighs,
The back of your thighs,
Your reproductive organs,
And makes its way down again,
And with each inch the water touches,
The deeper the relaxation,
And now the water makes its way up from the bottom of your back,
Right to the top,
And over your tummy,
Your chest and shoulders,
Your fingers,
Hands,
And your entire left and right arm,
Any tension is gone,
Only deep relaxation remains,
And the tide recedes again all the way down your body,
Making its way back up now,
Over your neck,
The back of your head,
Your face,
And the top of your head,
And as it makes its way down your body again,
You feel so deeply calm and at ease.
Just stay in this moment,
Enjoy the sense of calm you have created,
And now just listen to the sound of my voice,
And deeply know that these affirmations hold great power.
You can repeat them in your mind,
Or just listen.
I have strength far beyond what I knew I was capable of,
I know there is nothing I have done to cause this,
It simply is,
No one knows my child better than I do,
Even in moments of frustration,
I am a wonderful parent,
I regulate my emotions,
And any overwhelming feelings just make me human,
I can function better than I could have ever imagined on limited sleep,
Feeling frustration only means I deeply love and care about my child,
I detach from any desired outcome and trust in the process,
This too shall pass,
I hold a calming presence and bring peace to my child,
I accept help when necessary,
Even in the most difficult moments,
The love I hold for my child never wavers,
The sleep I do have is deeply restorative,
Each day that passes is one day closer to sleeping through the night again,
I have strength far beyond what I knew I was capable of,
