Guided by Liberate Practitioner Kimberlie Eddy, Yoga Nidra is a practice of psychic sleep, as you are relaxed into a conscious state, akin to a lucid dream. Deep transformation can occur through Yoga Nidra, as we set a soul level intention or resolve that permeates deep into the subconscious through the practice, bringing a powerful opportunity for healing and transcendence. Through Nidra, it is possible to cultivate a deep inner peace and a balanced state of being. Note: This is a live recording.

Thank you guys for joining Yoga Nidra.

So I feel like most of you have done Yoga Nidra before.

We are talking a little bit about what it is.

It's a practice of meditation that doesn't include asanas.

So it's yoga,

But we're laying still in like a savasana position,

Just stillness on our mat.

It's okay though.

I'm not strict.

If you feel like you need to move,

Sneeze,

Cough,

Cry,

Anything,

Please do.

I personally don't like when I'm in a place and like,

Don't move.

You'll screw up the process.

Nothing's going to screw up the process.

In fact,

In Yoga Nidra more than any other form of meditation,

Except for Kundalini meditation,

I found that my body will shit,

Will jerk.

They call it hypnagogic jerk,

Which is just a release from the cellular body,

Which is awesome when that stuff happens.

I don't know if you guys ever have those dreams or wake yourself up like shaking.

That's a release.

And right now it's a lot of emotional mental release,

Which is really beautiful.

Just let it out,

Release it.

Just know you're in a space where you can release that right now and right here.

It gets transmuted immediately.

Yeah.

With Nidra,

The process that I'll walk through,

I guess I should be telling the camera to,

It's an eight stage process of like going within to release a lot of like what we would call like thought forms that don't serve us conditioning,

But I don't use those words.

There's really no energy healing words used in Nidra,

Which is really great.

They're all relatable words.

So it really goes to show how much like our self talk and what we say and hear and receive impacts us.

Ideally,

When we're in a super receptive place in the process,

We can get to a Delta state in the meditation.

And the Delta state is essentially the deepest brainwave state,

Very,

Very slow brainwave,

Where we kind of feel,

I guess,

Like we're just floating,

Being totally supportive.

But we don't,

We're not astral traveling.

We're not going anywhere into space or on a journey.

We're just in our present moment.

So that's the meditation will last about 30,

35 minutes.

It's not super,

Super long,

But I can also stretch it out,

Make it a little longer if I feel we need to.

Yeah.

So get yourself comfy laying down on your mat.

If anyone needs like a pillow under their legs,

That's fine.

It's best to lay without a pillow under your head though,

Because you want your spine straight.

But yeah,

If you want anything from our collection of eyes,

I have eyes.

Lay however you're comfy.

Yeah.

Cause I'm not,

I'm not channeling to you.

We're just,

In fact,

It activates your own inner channels.

So it's really beautiful.

Yeah.

Feet are perfect like that.

Beautiful.

I have a little spray of Peruvian spirit water here,

Agua de Florida.

So if you guys are okay,

This stuff was really expensive.

I'm just letting you know.

I'm sharing this.

Yeah.

I'm like 600 pesos.

What?

Okay.

A little laughter for today.

Ultimately,

This meditation will help us to be in a space of less reactivity.

And I think right now more than ever is where we can find solace and peace.

I think,

Missed this.

Meditation is the practice of contentment and being okay with what is.

Why we practice yoga nidra.

Why we honor stillness.

As we go deeper we learn to be non-reactive.

Suffering in a most fundamental way is the inability to relax into our body just as we are.

Freedom comes in dropping the identifying factors with what is holding us back.

Essentially bridging the gap between expectations and reality.

Letting go of self.

Enlightenment is the realization of our true nature.

Yoga nidra is a doorway to samadhi as we enter the peaceful place.

We are now going to experience yoga nidra,

Allowing yourself to lay down on your back,

Flat upon the floor,

Finding yourself in a comfortable position for lying in stillness for the next half hour.

This will allow you to fully relax and release from mind,

From body,

From soul.

Allowing your eyes to close,

Settling in until the practice has completed.

Yoga nidra is a practice of yogic sleep.

You will be guided to a hypnagogic state akin to a lucid dream.

A state of non-dual awareness.

Allow your consciousness to rely on my voice to carry you through this practice without falling asleep but being able to witness the emptying of the mind with minimal reactivity.

During this meditation you will be guided into a balanced state of mind,

Of body,

And of breath.

Through practice it is possible to cultivate a deep inner peace.

Peace of the entire being.

Feel the solid strength of the ground beneath you.

Knowing the ground to support you.

Feel the weight of your body.

As we turn,

Our gentle gaze inwards.

Find your still point of focus in your heart center.

As we begin a gentle body rotation,

We will be creating a pathway.

A pathway for healing light to flow through,

Connecting the entire body.

As each part of the physical body is named,

Simply acknowledge the part and let it go.

Beginning with the right side of the body.

Right hand thumb.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Fourth finger.

Little finger.

Palm of hand.

Top of hand.

Wrist.

Arm.

Inner elbow.

Upper arm.

Shoulder.

Arm pit.

Right side of chest.

Waist.

Right side of hip.

Thigh.

Knee.

Shin.

Ankle.

Top of right foot.

Right big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth toe.

Little toe.

Soul of foot.

Let go.

Connecting the left side of the body.

Right hand thumb.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Fourth finger.

Little finger.

Palm of hand.

Top of hand.

Wrist.

Forearm.

Inner elbow.

Upper arm.

Left side hip.

Thigh.

Knee.

Shin.

Ankle.

Top of left foot.

Left big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth toe.

Little toe.

Soul of foot.

Let go.

Into the earth.

Connecting the back of the body.

Right heel.

Left heel.

Right calf.

Left calf.

Right back of knee.

Left back of knee.

Right back thigh.

Left back thigh.

Right buttock.

Left buttock.

Lower back.

Middle back.

Upper back.

Sweeping up the entire spine.

Right shoulder blade.

Left shoulder blade.

Back of neck.

Back of head.

Crown of head.

Release.

Forehead.

Right temple.

Left temple.

Right ear.

Left ear.

Right brow.

Left brow.

Brow centre.

Release.

Right eye.

Left eye.

Right nostril.

Left nostril.

Whole nose.

Right cheek.

Left cheek.

Upper lip.

Lower lip.

Both lips together.

Release.

Teeth.

Tongue.

Right jaw.

Left jaw.

Chin.

Throat.

Throat pit.

Soften.

Right side of chest.

Left side of chest.

Upper abdomen.

Navel.

Soften.

Lower abdomen.

Entire pelvic floor.

Release.

Now completing the whole body connection.

The whole right leg.

The whole left leg.

The whole right arm.

The whole left arm.

Whole face.

Whole head.

Whole front of body.

Whole back of body.

The whole body.

The whole body.

In peace.

Release.

Bring awareness to the navel center.

Observe as the breath rises and falls from the navel.

With each inhale,

Breathe in healing light.

With each exhale,

Releasing out impurities.

Breathing in.

The navel center fills with healing light.

Breathing in.

Exhaling out impurities.

Again notice the rise and the fall of the navel with each breath.

We're going to begin to count the rising and the falling of the navel backwards from twenty seven all the way to zero.

As the navel rises,

Mentally say to yourself,

Navel rising twenty seven.

Navel falling twenty seven.

Navel rising twenty six.

Navel falling twenty six.

All the way down to zero.

If you lose your place,

Please begin again at twenty seven.

Navel rising twenty seven.

Navel rising twenty seven.

Navel rising twenty seven.

Now allowing the breath to flow naturally.

Dropping in.

The whole body breathes.

The whole body fills with healing light.

Release.

Notice the body as it is heavy.

Becoming weighted,

Grounded.

Feel the heaviness in all parts of the body.

The head is heavy,

Grounded.

The limbs heavy,

Grounded.

The torso heavy,

Grounded.

The whole body heavy,

Grounded.

Sinking into the floor,

Into the earth,

Grounded.

Release.

Now sense the body becoming light.

As though the body could now float up and away from the floor.

Hovering just above the ground.

The head is light,

Weightless.

The limbs light,

Weightless.

The torso light,

Weightless.

The whole body light,

Weightless.

Sinking higher and higher away from the floor,

Weightless.

Release.

Awaken the sensation of cold on the body.

A cool rush of crisp air blows over you,

Over the nose,

Over the toes,

Over the skin.

Chilling you.

Filling your entire being.

Now allow the sensation of heat to spread throughout the body.

Make the warmth of a golden,

Radiating sun enveloping you from within.

Warming your entire being with golden light.

Whole body balanced.

Find the still point of focus in the brow center.

Observe this space in front of the closed eyelids.

Before you is a transparent viewing screen.

As though you are watching a film.

Focus on this mind screen.

Become aware of any phenomena that manifests upon it.

Light,

Colors,

Shapes,

Patterns,

Symbols.

And escape.

Continue awareness of this space without involvement.

Only witnessed with a detached awareness.

Be in peace.

Whole being in peace.

Become the formless.

Become the formed.

Let go.

Visualize or sense within the body as a collection of coloured light is conjured.

Red light flowing through.

Green light flowing through.

Orange light flowing through.

Blue light flowing through.

Yellow light flowing through.

Violet light flowing through.

This rainbow of radiant light combines into white,

Crystalline light.

Allow this consciousness to flow wherever it is needed most.

As you fill up with healing light,

The whole body fills with healing light.

Release.

Radiant.

Radiate.

Deep inner peace.

Whole body be in peace.

Whole being in peace.

Release all expectations.

Let go.

Release.

Whole being in peace.

Now.

Gently begin to bring your conscious awareness back into the feeling of breath in your nostrils.

This coolness,

This life force.

Maintain your awareness of this breath in your nostrils.

And begin to develop awareness of your physical body.

With peace.

Connect the breath from behind the nose to the base of your spine.

And release.

Allow the breath to flow.

Naturally.

The whole body breathes.

It's the whole body fills with healing light.

Notice and sense the weight of your body.

Your body upon your mat.

Your body upon the ground.

Your body in this room.

In this space.

In this space you're safe.

In all space you are safe in your body.

Release any excess energy into the ground,

Into the earth.

Feel or sense the temperature in the room upon your skin,

Your nose,

Your toes.

You may begin to gently allow your fingers to rub together.

You can feel the smooth sensation of your skin,

Of your beingness inside your body.

You can wiggle your toes.

Stretching any part of the body that feels good.

Allowing your body and your whole self to begin to awaken.

Well being in peace.

This concludes our yoga nidra.

Namaste.

Thank you.
