In this short guided practice, we will work with the energy of craving, desire, and doubt in strenghtening the skill of compassionate discernment. Through the acknowledgement, validation, transmutation of these encumbered states, cleansing of the physical, mental, and emotional body through the use of a sacred seed sound will take place.

Transcript

Before we begin our practice,

Take a few moments to find a comfortable seat.

If you wish,

You may also relax and recline on your back in a supine posture.

When you are ready,

Close down your eyes and take a moment to scan the physical body as though your attention were outlining your physical shape.

Good.

And then source out the breath amidst the container of your physical body.

And with your next inhale,

Feel as though you are collecting all of the physical tension within your body.

Breathe in and hold gently at the top.

And as you exhale,

Sigh through the mouth,

Fully emptying and releasing any residual physical tension.

Two more times like this.

On the inhale,

Collect all of your physical tension.

Bring it right to the surface and hold.

And then on the exhale,

Sweep these efforts out and away from the body.

One more round together.

Breathe in.

Grip and hold onto all the physical tension that your awareness can find.

And then ha exhale,

Sigh out through the mouth,

Releasing into a newfound sensation of space.

Let us work with the emotional tension now.

Take a full breath in and collecting any residual emotional tension.

Hold gently at the top.

And then ha,

Sigh,

Exhale out.

Let that go.

Second round,

Breathing in,

Collecting any heavy emotional climate into the periphery,

Into the breath and hold.

And then exhale,

Let it go.

Third and final round together,

Breathe in.

And then ha,

Breath out.

Let us work with mental tension.

With your next inhale,

Become aware of any stories that are necessary at this time to be released.

Hold at the top.

And then exhale,

Release.

Another two more rounds,

Just like that.

Take a full breath in.

And then a full embodied breath out.

Last breath,

Collect on the inhale.

And then sigh on the exhale,

Releasing any mental tension.

And now take this time to come back to the somatic experience of the body.

Notice any shifts and changes.

Perhaps a sensation of more space and more clarity as to what is really occurring at this time within the sheath of your skin.

And now let us work with the encumbered state of craving,

Desire,

Insecurity.

Take a few moments now to scan your physical body.

Scan the emotional body.

And then scan the mental body for evidence of this encumbered state of craving,

Desire,

And doubt.

Feel this encumbered energy circulate through all three bodies.

Allow for images to arise,

People,

Places,

Objects that validate this encumbered state for you.

And then as the emotions naturally are birthed from the mind,

Continue to allow the emotions to arise,

The sensation of the emotions to heighten and surface.

And now effort to intensify this encumbered state of grasping,

Of craving,

Of longing due to a sense of doubt so that you can truly feel it strongly and deeply at this time.

Good.

And now we'll work with sound in order to release this encumbered state from the physical,

Mental,

And emotional body.

Remain in the sensation,

In the emotional climate of this encumbered state.

And on your next inhale,

Collect all of this energy similar to what we have previously done.

And then as you begin to exhale,

Sound the seed sound knee.

You may do this out loud.

You may do this as a whisper.

You may also do this within the mind.

Exhaling to collect the energy of doubt,

Instability,

Longing,

And on the exhale,

Sound knee,

N-I.

Sound it until the breath is no longer available.

Sound it until the edge of the next breath cycle begins.

And as you continue to sound the seed syllable of knee,

N-I,

Imagine that as you sound the seed,

Your body,

Your mind,

Your emotions are permeated with a bright red,

A bright red hue.

This color is circulating within the body.

And also this color is radiating outward onto anything externally that had validated this encumbered state.

Let the wisdom come from the light and the sound continue on like this for another few moments.

You may take a pause in between seed sounds,

Taking a natural neutral breath.

After every round of the seed sound.

And as we come to the final few rounds of this meditation,

Make a sincere effort to emphasize the sound to create a soft pressure or push at the edge of each seed sound.

Take one final round.

Inhale and then exhale knee.

Project the sound within the body and without radiant red hue.

Once you've finished,

Take a moment to rest in the wisdom of this encumbered state,

The wisdom of compassionate discernment,

The wisdom of fealty,

Loyalty,

Undying fidelity.

Take as long as you like to close out your practice.

You may even want to journal as to how you feel physically,

Mentally and emotionally after this exercise.
