This is a short intention-setting practice. You will be prompted to reflect back on your week and decide what worked well for you. You will choose a quality of being (i.e. kindness, compassion, curiosity, etc.) that would best support you in the week ahead. You will then bring that quality into your meditation practice, and set the intention to bring it into the week ahead. This meditation is best practiced on a Sunday evening, or at the end of your workweek, but can be used any time.

Take a moment to ground down.

Choose any position that feels best for you today.

Choose something open,

Dignified and relaxed.

Once you have saddled,

Begin to deepen your breath.

Take a few moments to truly connect to breath,

Watching the breath travel in and out of your body.

Allow your breath to be completely effortless now.

No long inhales,

No forced exhales.

Just an effortless flow of breathing without any need for intervention.

Take a moment now to reflect back on your week.

Notice what has worked well for you.

Take a few moments to think through everything that worked well for you this week.

Now take a moment and think about when you were most proud of yourself this week.

Try and keep this simple.

Anything you did that reflects who you really are and what you stand for.

If nothing comes to mind,

Think of what a best friend would say to this question.

If they were asked what you would be most proud of this week,

What would they say?

Be generous in your answer.

Now take a moment to think about when you felt most energized this week.

When did you feel most energized?

And as you think about this,

Start to visualize yourself.

Where were you when you felt energized?

Who were you with?

What's your expression?

As you begin to visualize this moment or this event,

Feel the energy that you experienced at the time.

Now ask yourself,

What do I need most right now in order to feel more energized in my life?

Take a moment to let that question settle in.

What do I need most right now in order to feel more energized?

Bring your awareness back to your breathing,

Just watching the breath and allow the question to percolate.

What do I need most right now?

Next,

Ask yourself,

What quality of being would support me in this?

What quality of being would support me?

Again,

Be quite light here in your examination.

Whatever quality you feel would support you,

Perhaps it's compassion,

Integrity,

Kindness,

Patience,

Surrender,

Trust.

There are so many helpful qualities,

So whatever it is that would best support you right now,

Take a few moments.

What quality of being would best support you?

Whatever quality you've chosen,

Take a moment now to breathe it in.

Breathe this sense of being into your heart and feel it begin to wrap itself around your heart.

Set the intention now to breathe in this quality of being,

Every time you need it.

Know that this quality lies within you,

Ready to be accessed at any time you choose.

It is here within you,

Ready and waiting.

Set the intention now throughout your day to check in with your breath and breathe in this quality of being.

Take a deep inhale now as you breathe in this quality and a long exhale as you sigh it out.

Deep inhale,

Wrap it around your heart and a long exhale to release.

Begin to widen your awareness now,

Noticing the sounds around you,

Noticing your gentle breath beneath each experience.

Gently begin to open your eyes,

Coming back into the room around you.

With eyes open,

Breathe in your chosen quality.

As we close the meditation,

Take a deep inhale and a long gentle sigh.

Bring this quality into your day with each breath that you take.

Bring a gentle smile to your face and in your own time return to your day.

I feel so good about the intention I’ve set for my day. I love the pauses in this meditation that help me receive the wisdom here.
