Hello and welcome to this meditation for the full moon.
So the full moon is the end of a lunar cycle and the time when the moon shines brightest in the sky and so symbolically that represents shining a light on that which no longer serves us and enables us to use the energy and power of the moon to release anything we no longer desire in our life and to help make space for our new intentions and that which we want to call in.
So if you haven't already go ahead and find any comfortable position for you either sitting upright with a straight spine or feel free to lie down on your back if that feels more loving and supportive to you right now.
Once you're there allow your eyes to gently close and go ahead and place your hands palms facing down somewhere on your body and this helps you to feel grounded and supported.
Let's take three deep inhales and slow exhales together so emptying any air out and big slow breath in really filling the belly with air and then slowly exhale it out.
Again long deep inhale imagining oxygen moving into every inch and cell of the body and let it out maybe with a sigh.
Last one deep breath in and exhale letting something go beautiful.
You can let your breath fall back into its natural rhythm and now take your awareness to the top of the head and you're going to slowly move down the body allowing your attention to release any tension you may be holding anywhere you may be gripping or tightening.
So starting at the top of the head and moving down softening the forehead allowing the mind to quiet behind it feeling the eyes rest the face soften maybe the jaw unclenches moving down the neck into the shoulders maybe the shoulders drop down releasing something they've been carrying.
Continue making your way all the way down the body on your own time until you've reached your feet.
Good now turn your focus to your breath observing your breath as you breathe in and out you can follow the breath as it moves in and out of your nose or pay attention to your chest rising and falling just follow the breath on your own time in whatever way feels best to you.
If you find your mind has wandered that's perfectly natural just acknowledge that it's wandered and then let the thoughts go and gently bring your focus back to the breath.
Beautiful.
Now ask yourself what is something I want to let go of?
Maybe it's a past hurt or belief you have about yourself that may be holding you back.
Whatever it is keep breathing as you hold in mind something you would like to let go of.
Notice how it feels in the body can you just allow it to be there and acknowledge the motion and sensations present breathing into any sensations arising and if it ever feels overwhelming you can pull back and refocus on just the breath.
Now filling in whatever it is you've chosen to let go of repeat either out loud or in your head after me.
I want to let go of.
Again I want to let go of.
I am able to let go of.
I am able to let go of.
I allow myself to let go of.
I allow myself to let go of.
Now imagine a pitcher full of water and the water represents the thing you've chosen to let go of and with every exhale you're pouring some of it out.
So visualize the pitcher becoming less and less full and you don't need to rush it.
Allow yourself time to slowly empty the pitcher of water.
Maybe there's still some water left but notice how you feel in this moment.
Beautiful.
Now you've freed up space for something positive and so what feeling do you want to fill it with?
It could be love,
Joy,
Clarity,
Comfort.
There's no right answer.
The universe has an abundance of whatever it is you desire and you are so worthy of it.
So now go ahead and flip your palms up so that they're facing the ceiling or sky and this tells the universe that you're open to receiving.
As you breathe in imagine that you're breathing in whatever feeling you've chosen through your heart and as you exhale you release anything that's blocking it from you.
If no specific word came up then you can just imagine that you're inhaling positivity and exhaling negativity.
Keep breathing in that word through your heart.
Imagine it's slowly filling you so much that it expands out from your heart into your entire body and so on your own time allow yourself to be filled with this feeling using your breath until you're overflowing with it.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Take a moment to just relax into this feeling that you've cultivated.
Allow yourself to almost swim in it.
Beautiful.
Now repeat the following phrases after me.
I allow myself to receive love.
I allow myself to receive peace.
I allow myself to receive compassion.
I allow myself to receive acceptance.
I allow myself to receive all the blessings of the universe.
Now I invite you to extend gratitude to yourself for taking the time to do this practice and show yourself love in this way.
Start to gently come back to the present moment.
Maybe wiggling the fingers and toes,
Inviting gentle movement back into the body.
Maybe taking the arms overhead or stretching in any other way that feels good and then taking as much time as you'd like.
Whenever you feel ready,
You can slowly and gently open your eyes.
Thank you.
I am sending you so much love and whatever else you need today.
