Hello,
Welcome to this meditation for releasing energy that isn't yours.
Go ahead and find a comfortable meditation position for you,
One that allows your body to relax without you falling asleep.
Once you're there,
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Start to take slower,
Deeper breaths.
See if you can feel your entire body expand with air as you inhale.
And allow each exhale to help release any tension you may be holding.
Keep breathing.
Beautiful.
You can allow your breath to fall back into its natural rhythm.
If they aren't already,
Place your hands with the palms face down,
Somewhere on your body.
It could be your thighs,
Your belly,
One hand over the heart and one on the belly.
Whatever feels most comfortable to you right now.
And now bring attention to your seat and the connection it's making with the surface below it.
Can you allow that connection between yourself and whatever is underneath it to ground you,
To sink you deeper into the present moment with a sense of stability and support?
Beautiful.
Good.
Part of being a human is interacting with people,
Often many people every day.
And sometimes without realizing it,
We can take on the emotions and energies of others,
Especially those we feel connected to.
Unfortunately,
This can leave us feeling drained,
Irritable,
Or just off.
So we're going to do a practice now to help you release energy that isn't yours,
And release attachments to anyone you may feel tethered to in an unhealthy emotional way.
First,
Repeat after me,
I release any energy that isn't mine.
Again,
I release any energy that isn't mine.
I am not responsible for anyone's emotions but my own.
I do not have to take on others' emotions.
Wonderful.
Now one technique used to help you unhook from unhealthy dynamics or energy-draining people is to symbolically cut the cord between the two of you.
So you can imagine that there's a cord,
Or you can imagine a vine or string of light,
Whatever feels best to you,
Connecting you to this other person.
So think of anyone that you maybe have difficulties with or find emotionally draining,
Or simply people you find yourself more emotionally attached to.
Imagine a cord of some kind connecting you two.
And now imagine unhooking yourself from that other person.
You can cut the connection with imaginary scissors,
Or just visualize the connection breaking.
And as you do,
Say,
I honor you and I release you.
Keep doing this with as many people as you feel is needed,
Saying I honor you and I release you and cutting the cord between you two.
That's wonderful.

Now,
As you look after me,
I release any energy that isn't my own.
♪♪ I call back all of my own energy.
♪♪ I'm just bringing awareness to your whole body and how you feel in this moment.
Feeling what it is to be in your own energy.
♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ If your mind has wandered and you're starting to get lost in thoughts,
That is totally normal.
Just bring your focus back to any sensations in the body and just observing what your energy feels like.
♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ Good.
This is a practice that you can do as often as you feel is needed.
♪♪ Start to gently come back to the present moment,
Maybe wiggling the fingers and toes.
♪♪ And then taking all the time you'd like,
Whenever you feel ready,
Slowly and gently open your eyes.
