Take a moment to arrive here.
There's nowhere else you need to be right now and nothing you need to become before this moment is allowed.
Just noticing that you're here is enough.
Maybe you came into this meditation because something inside feels unsettled,
A tightness you can't quite name,
A heaviness you've been carrying,
A restless movement in your mind that won't fully quiet.
Maybe it's more subtle than that.
Just a sense that something isn't right,
That you aren't okay the way you are.
If that's here,
We begin there.
Not by fixing it,
Not by pushing it away,
But by gently acknowledging this is what this moment feels like.
Nothing about it is wrong.
Human experience moves in waves.
Energy rises and falls.
Emotions come and go.
Nervous systems activate and settle and activate again.
This movement is not a malfunction.
It is life moving through you.
So for a moment,
Notice your breathing.
You don't need to change it.
Your body is already breathing without your effort.
And breathing out,
You might feel the breath in your chest or your belly softly rising and falling,
The faint sensation of air at your nose.
Maybe the breath feels different.
Maybe it's distant.
Any way you notice it is perfectly okay.
Let your awareness rest there for a few breaths.
If your mind wanders,
That's okay.
Minds wander the way hearts beat.
It isn't something you're doing wrong.
Just noticing is enough.
Now gently turn toward what's happening inside you.
Not analyzing.
Not solving.
Just sensing.
Is there tension?
Pressure?
Fear?
Sadness?
Restlessness?
There's something unknown hovering at the edges.
Whatever is here,
See if you can allow it without needing it to change.
You might imagine creating a little more space inside yourself,
As if your experience could expand without becoming a problem.
Sometimes suffering grows when we start fighting what we feel.
So right now,
You don't have to fight.
You don't have to fix anything.
You don't have to improve this moment.
You can simply be here,
Exactly as you are.
If part of you wishes things were different,
That's human,
Too.
Longing for relief is part of being human.
See if you can feel the support beneath you.
The chair or the floor holding your weight.
The steadiness of gravity doing its work.
Your body supported without effort.
You don't have to hold yourself up alone.
Take a slightly slower breath now.
Just a little more space on the inhale.
And a gentle exhale.
And again,
A little more space on the inhale.
And a gentle exhale.
Letting the exhale soften your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your belly.
If they want to.
Nothing you need to make happen.
Just allowing.
You might begin to notice underneath thoughts,
Underneath emotions,
There's something steady.
Part of you that is aware.
This awareness has been here through every moment of your life.
Through confusion.
Through certainty.
Through pain and joy.
Through times you felt lost.
And times you felt whole.
That awareness itself is not broken.
It never was.
No matter what you've struggled with.
No matter what you have felt.
No matter what stories your mind has told.
There's something intact here.
Something whole.
You don't have to create it.
You don't have to earn it.
You can simply notice that it's always here.
Rest here for a few breaths.
If thoughts move,
Let them move.
Emotions change.
Let them change.
Nothing you need to manage right now.
Just breathing.
Just being.
Just existing in this moment.
See if you can carry this understanding with you.
Nothing about this moment means something is wrong with you.
You are a human.
Having a human experience.
And that is allowed.
Take one more breath.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
