Music Now in a sense and savour walk we basically do what the title of the meditation suggests.
We become very aware of all of our senses in our environment as we walk around our environment.
If you're able to go outside during this meditation that can be really nice but I know it's very cold where some of us are and it's getting dark so that might not be the thing to do.
So the idea is that you move about your environment in a much more intentional and slow way than you usually would.
You really become curious,
Interested in the things that are in your environment.
And when you notice something beautiful,
Something that really grabs your interest,
You can spend a bit of time with that.
So maybe there are flowers in a vase where you are to really sense those flowers,
To see them,
To smell them,
Maybe to feel them between your fingertips.
Really spend time doing that.
Really savour,
Savour the experience of something like flowers with your senses.
Maybe you don't have flowers.
Maybe you have a particular rug on your floor that has a really lovely texture.
Maybe you spend some time just savouring the texture.
Or maybe there's a view out your window.
Maybe you spend some time just looking at the view out your window.
The idea is to simply be with your experience in a more embodied way than many of us are often moving throughout our day.
So really,
Really notice what's going on in your experience.
Noticing when you're feeling something that's pleasant,
Noticing when you're feeling something unpleasant,
Noticing when there's really no feeling at all,
When you're feeling quite neutral.
And so finding something that you like to spend time with and then when you lose interest,
Moving on to something else.
So you might go from the flowers to a rug to a wall hanging to your pet,
Whatever it is that draws your attention spending time with each of those things.
So we're going to have 20 minutes for this.
So I'll come back in about 20 minutes time.
You might like to time yourself if you're going to go away from your computer.
But really,
Really take your time with this practice.
How often do we get 20 minutes to simply be with our senses and to practice savoring?
I'll see you back here in 20 minutes time.
Enjoy your scents and save a walk.
Religions.
Cheers!
Welcome back after your sense and savor walk which is a practice you can do at any time.
It's just a matter of giving yourself the time to do it,
Setting it aside to sense and savor.
