This is a simple visualization practice for clearing the emotional system of residue and build-up that accumulates as a result of trauma, depression, anxiety, and normal human circumstances beyond our control. The premise is that our physical system -- the nervous system -- can get overloaded with stimulus, and when overburdened cannot operate its normal function of bringing in and discharging emotional experiences. As a result, we experience the sensation of stuck-ness, like pent-up energy is trying to be released. Sometimes the releases can be spontaneous and negative because our systems have been overloaded for so long. Turning toward a regular clearing process will help keep our systems regulated, creating more space for us to feel what's here, rather than feeling all of the stuck energy in addition to the emotions coming through.
