Hi there,

I'm glad you're here.

I'm going to walk you through a couple of quick nervous system reset exercises.

And then we'll do some affirmations to make sure you feel solid and steady for the rest of your day.

Are you ready?

First,

We'll do some box breathing.

I'll walk you through it first.

Okay.

What we're going to do is inhale for five counts.

And then at the very top of your breath,

You'll hold it for five counts.

After that,

You'll release and exhale for five counts.

And then hold your breath at the bottom for another five.

Sound good.

I'll walk you through.

Here we go.

Inhale 54321 hold 54321 exhale 54321 and hold 54321.

Awesome.

Back to regular breathing.

And then I'm going to walk you through the next part.

The beginning is the same.

We'll inhale for a count of five.

But then at the top of your inhale,

You're going to tense up your hands and arms and legs and feet.

Careful not to bring too much tension into your shoulders.

Let's focus on collecting energy in the hands,

Wrists,

Feet,

And legs.

We'll hold for a five count,

Maybe just a little bit longer,

Then release everything.

Okay,

Let's try it.

Are you ready?

Inhale for five seconds.

Hold your breath.

Tense up your hands,

Wrists,

Legs,

Feet as hard as you can for 321 and release 2345.

Good.

You did it.

One more time,

But we're going to add one more bit.

On the exhale at the end,

You're going to hum.

It might feel weird,

But look,

It's a scientifically proven panic attack hack.

So remember,

If you're ever helping someone else get through a panic attack,

This is a fabulous easy fix.

Are you ready?

Inhale 54321 hold scrunch everything up as tight as you can and then release humming like this.

Amazing.

I bet you're feeling pretty good now.

Let's take that excellent energy into three affirmations for solid,

Steady,

Whole self stability for the day,

Shall we?

First one goes like this.

Repeat after me.

I've got my own back.

Whenever I need support,

I turn within and find a friend right here.

I've got my own back.

Whenever I need support,

I turn within and find a friend right here.

Next up,

All day long,

My breath is slow and easy.

My body is calm and in tune with my quiet mind.

All day long,

My breath is slow and easy.

My body is calm and in tune with my quiet mind.

Okay,

One more.

Deep inside,

My strong and healthy heart is beating.

Carrying me through my splendid life.

Deep inside,

My strong and healthy heart is beating.

Carrying me through my splendid life.

Remember,

You can start your day over again anytime you need to.

You've got your own back.

You are an excellent person.

And you've got a lot to offer this wonderful world.

Go out there and do a great day.

This was helpful to come into the body and regulate the breath. I liked the tensing and releasing component too. Then the affirmations were really supportive to shift to gratitude and a positive mindset. Thank you!

Humming is really working and larger box breathing (I was used to a count of four) helped me a lot. My brother is bailing out of helping me take care of my 93 year Mom who’s doing well but he can’t wait anymore to start his life. So Everything has landed on me. Not that Mom will appreciate me more because she adores her son and he can’t do anything wrong. Everything I do is wrong. I’m a Capricorn and thus the scapegoat for all bad things. I have decided to just let him go because he’ll leave anyway. And by not getting angry or resisting he can’t point to me as causing more of his troubles. I refuse to be a doormat but where it’s not important I will let it go. “How important is it” an Al-Anon Slogan. So as I’m trying desperately NOT To panic about the impending load on My shoulders, this meditation sent by my Higher Power whom I love as the Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary will be used a lot. I’m Extremely Grateful that she allowed this meditation to be free, because I’m below the Federal Poverty Level. I do want to THANK her somehow. This meditation is very encouraging, grounding, centering and generously loving — everything I needed this morning. Blessings to the Author and all of us on our journeys. Gratefully, Anne
