This Spring Equinox meditation is the time to honor the balance of light and dark and focus on the harmony between the sun and moon energies within us. In this guided meditation Kelly leads you through a breathwork practice that activates both your sun and moon energy and ends with focusing on the balance and midline between the two to honor the Spring Equinox.

Let's begin by coming to a comfortable position.

If it's possible,

Be seated,

But you can lie down as well.

And make sure that you can breathe without anything getting in the way.

And that your mind can stay alert,

But your body can be soft and relaxed.

We'll take a moment to set an intention,

One of energetic balance,

Internal harmony.

And then take a few big deep cleansing breaths.

Just breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.

And do that two more times.

And now allow your breath to be smooth and effortless.

Just observing the natural tide of inhales and exhales as you breathe in and out.

Just noticing the breath.

As the inhale is the energy of the sun and the exhale is the energy of the moon.

And now begin to balance out the length of your inhales and exhales.

And perhaps inhaling for a count of four or five and then exhaling for that same count of four or five.

And now release any count that you have and just let the breath flow.

Maybe noticing if it feels different now that inhales and exhales are even in length.

And we'll begin our sun and moon breath.

And we'll do this by only breathing out and in from one side of the nose at a time.

So using your left hand,

You can close your left nostril.

And we'll begin inhaling and exhaling only out of the right nostril.

It might feel a little funny at first,

But that's okay.

Just breathing in and out from the right nostril only.

The right side of the body is the sun side of the body.

So as you breathe in and out from the right side,

Imagining that you're breathing in sunlight.

Maybe imagining this yellow,

Golden light moving in and out from the right nostril as you breathe solely from that side.

We'll be taking four more breath cycles from only the right side.

Just visualizing that yellow,

Golden sunlight dancing in and out of the right nostril as you breathe.

And after that fourth round,

Release your left hand and take a few deep breaths in and out of both nostrils.

Transitioning now to the moon side,

The left side of the body.

We'll balance out the energy by taking our right hand and closing our right nostril.

And then begin to breathe in and out only from the left nostril.

And as you're breathing in from the left side,

Imagining moonlight pouring in from the right nostril.

Moving in and out of your body through the left nostril as you breathe only from that side.

And we'll do four more rounds of breathing only from the left side.

Visualizing that moonlight moving in and out of your body from the left nostril.

And after that fourth round,

Releasing your hand and breathing equally through both nostrils.

And as you breathe equally,

Same length inhales and exhales,

Breath moving in and out through both nostrils.

Focus on the midline of your body.

Maybe imagining there's a line of energy moving right down the center of your nose,

Dividing your body into two hemispheres,

Your body's equator.

Just breathing here,

Focusing on the midline of the body.

Feeling yourself being perfectly suspended between the two energies,

Sun and moon,

The energies of doing and being,

Of light and dark.

Focus on your midline,

The point perfectly suspended,

Equal energy between the two.

As you take a few more deep breaths and tell yourself three times,

My energy is balanced.

I exist in perfect harmony.

I allow myself to both do and be.

I honor the sun and moon within me.

And now taking a big deep breath in through the nose and out of the mouth.

Opening the eyes and completing your meditation practice.

Thank you so much for joining me on the spring equinox.

And I hope you have a wonderful spring season ahead of you.
