As you're physically settling in,

Just give yourself permission to be here and to take these next few minutes just for you,

Allowing yourself to fully arrive in this moment.

The word equinox means equal night,

Meaning it's the balance of sun and moon,

Light and dark.

So we'll begin with some orbital breathing.

This is a breath that is not only energetically balancing,

But it also uses the visual of the sun and sun rising and setting.

But first bring your awareness to the tip of your nose,

Feeling the cool air move in and the warm air move out.

And now visualize the midline of your body,

Almost like it's this line of light that runs down your forehead,

Your nose,

Your mouth,

Throat,

Just visualizing the midline of your body,

Kind of like the equator.

Same idea even if it goes different ways on the globe versus our body.

Just imagining you have this physical midline.

And now bring your awareness to the crown of your head.

And your mind's eye see a sun at the top of the head shining down on your body.

It's hovering here.

And as you exhale,

Imagine that sun,

Like it's setting,

Begins to move down the back of your body following that midline.

Use the full exhale to move the sun down the back of the midline.

Come all the way down to your feet.

And then inhaling,

Imagine the sun like it's rising,

Moving up from the feet,

Up the midline,

All the way back to the crown of the head.

And exhaling,

The sun moves down the midline,

Down the back of the body.

Down the spine,

The legs,

Down to the feet.

And inhaling,

The sun rises,

Moving up from the feet,

The legs,

Following that midline,

All the way back up to the crown of the head.

Continuing with this,

Exhaling,

The sun sets down the back of the body.

And inhaling,

The sun rises,

Moving up the front of the body,

Coming back to the crown of the head.

And inhaling,

The sun rises,

Moving up the front of the body,

Coming back to the crown of the head.

Adding a layer here as you inhale and the sun rises,

Imagining that that inhale is filling you with warmth and light.

And as you exhale,

And that sun is setting down the back of your body,

Feel yourself softening into stillness.

And inhaling,

The sun rises up the front of the body,

Bringing in that warmth and light energy.

Exhaling,

The sun sets,

Softening into the stillness,

More of that darkness.

Doing a few more rounds of this.

And inhaling,

The sun rises,

Bringing in that light energy.

Exhaling,

The sun sets,

Settling into the quiet stillness of the night.

Focusing on that sun as it orbits your body up and down.

Then the next time that sun comes to the crown of your head,

Let it pause there and linger.

Sun shining down on you right at the top of the head.

Holding for a moment in perfect harmony of light and dark.

And now bring to mind anything that you feel ready to let go of or leave in the season behind you.

This could be old patterns,

Habits,

Ways of being that no longer serve you.

Maybe there's something else you want to release.

Bring this thing to your mind now.

And just like the trees in autumn release the old leaves.

Imagine that as you breathe and as you sit in this moment,

Every single breath out,

You release a little bit more.

Like one more of your leaves falling off and onto the ground.

Inhaling,

Bringing in that new season,

The new beginning,

New opportunity.

Exhaling,

Releasing what you're ready to let go of or leave in the season behind you.

Taking a few more rounds of breath.

Continuing to bring in that new,

Fresh energy of a new season.

Exhaling,

Releasing.

Maybe imagining those leaves coming off of your body.

Knowing that as those leaves are released and they go down to the ground,

They become nourishment for what's next.

Amplifying the soil,

Creating energy and nourishment for something bigger and better,

A new and more resilient you.

Releasing those last final leaves.

And then taking a moment to linger in this space that you've created.

What does it feel like leaving that old thing in the past,

Releasing what no longer serves you?

How does it feel to just be open and clear?

At the beginning of something new.

And now in that space that you've cleared,

Bring awareness to your heart.

Turn inward into a quiet and safe space within you.

And journey inward,

Finding this cozy,

Warm space within your heart.

And in this space,

Awaken deep gratitude for your life and for your harvests.

The things that have come to fruition that you now just get to enjoy.

Taking a moment of gratitude for what has already come to pass.

Your past experiences,

The lessons you've learned.

The growth that you've had in the season or seasons behind you.

And now gratitude for what's here in this present moment.

Your body,

Your breath,

Just a simple miracle of being alive right now.

And now gratitude for what is yet to come.

The blessings,

The harvests that the future holds,

Even if they're unseen.

Even if you don't know what those are yet.

Pause to really let this gratitude expand.

Filling your chest with warmth.

Imagining your heart filling with these harvests of abundance and love,

Connection,

Joy,

Resilience.

All gathered within you in the space you've created.

And now ending with a few mantras to really embody the energy of this equinox.

I release what no longer serves me.

I honor the balance of light and dark within me.

My heart is full of gratitude for the past,

Present,

And future.

I celebrate and honor the harvests of my heart.

And I'm taking a big deep breath in through the nose.

Open mouth,

Exhale,

Sigh it out,

Letting go.

One more time,

Inhale,

Bring in the energy of the light.

Exhale,

Finding the stillness of nighttime.

And opening the eyes and closing your equinox meditation practice.

Thank you so much for joining me.

Thank you so much for joining me today.
