Hello,
Beautiful,
And welcome.
I'm so grateful you're here with me right now.
Allow your body to settle,
And feel the support beneath you,
And know that you are comfortable and safe.
Draw in a deep breath,
And as you slowly exhale,
Let your body sink deeper into the bed or chair,
Allowing you to feel even more comfortable and rooted.
Life is full of change and different transitions.
Humans,
Animals,
And plants experience transformations.
Some are small and gentle,
Others are big and bold,
But often these transitions begin with a pause.
Now breathe in gentle air,
Peaceful air,
And as you do,
See if you can imagine the nature floating on a leaf,
A leaf that is wafting through the cool autumn breeze,
Delicately dancing its way to the ground.
Feel the gentle shifts of the leaf as the air moves it along,
And when you find yourself on the ground,
You notice hundreds of brightly colored leaves all around.
As you look up,
You see a tall,
Round tree trunk with dozens of leaves cascading to the ground.
Now imagine placing your hand on the trunk of the tree,
As if you could feel its heart.
Let yourself become aware that this tree is transitioning,
Dropping her beautiful leaves as she prepares for a sacred pause.
For the tree,
This pause is a time of rest and quiet change.
It will be her winter before the new energy of spring.
Imagine yourself gently bowing before her,
Acknowledging the sacred connection you share.
Now let your imagination take you to a small pond nestled on the edge of a forest.
It's nearly nightfall,
And the last embers of the sun are cast across the pond,
Sparkling in twilight's magic.
As you gaze across the pond,
You notice several pink and white lotus flowers floating on the surface.
At first,
The flowers are open wide,
Embracing life,
But as night falls over the pond,
The lotuses change,
They pause,
And then close their petals,
Choosing to peacefully rest under the blanket of the night.
Breathe in deeply,
And give yourself permission to fold your hands like the lovely lotuses.
And with your hands folded,
Imagine feeling peace and restfulness,
Breathing calm through your entire body as you pause for what's next.
Gaze once more over the dark water of the pond,
And nod to the resting lotus flowers,
Acknowledging the sacred connection you share.
Breathe in again deeply,
And imagine yourself transported to walking in a field,
With tall and short grass and brightly colored wildflowers bending to the will of the wind.
Along your walk,
You hear the serenade of buzzing bees,
And see butterflies twirling in the air like ballerinas.
You stop and find a place where you can sit and observe all the life and energy flowing around you,
And as the sun slowly dips in the sky,
You notice the feel,
Once teeming with energy,
Now softens and pauses.
One of the butterflies that had flitted and twirled through the afternoon has changed.
It now sits still on a flower stem,
With wings folded,
Allowing its energy to rest before transitioning to flight and pollinating wildflowers with the start of tomorrow's new day.
Imagine that you smile and nod at the butterfly,
Letting it know that you understand its secret,
A sacred pause as you transition.
Now,
Draw in a breath,
And sit with the knowledge that,
Like the trees,
The lotuses,
And the butterflies,
You are experiencing one of life's greatest and most beautiful transitions,
And it's ok to give yourself a sacred pause.
It's ok to embrace a period of peace,
A time of rest,
A season of self-acceptance as you move through your changes,
Because like the tree,
New life emerges after the rest of winter,
And like the lotus,
You fully open after the still of the night,
And like the butterfly after a night's calm passes,
You'll spread your wings and dance and soar and glide,
Because you gave yourself a sacred pause.
Namaste.
Beautiful.
