Hey,
This is Keri.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this short video.
Today,
I want to teach you one of my favorite breathing techniques.
It's called breath of joy.
So if you're feeling a little low energy,
A little pissed off,
If you just need to get your morning started,
Or maybe that little afternoon slump where,
You know,
Things start to go downhill and we look for caffeine and sugar and some other,
Maybe uppers to keep the energy going.
Maybe next time try breath of joy and see how this feels for you.
So I'm going to teach you this breath.
It's got both breath and arm movements.
So first,
Let's just get down the breath.
It's a three part inhale and it sounds like this.
Try that with me.
Three part inhale,
All one inhale,
Filling up three different times,
And then a full exhale out of the mouth.
Now we're going to add the arm movements.
We sync the breath with the arm movements.
So before we do the arm movements,
Let's check with our feet.
Start by having both feet face 12 o'clock,
At least hip width apart.
So there's enough space to keep you stable and then find a little softness in your knees.
We don't want to lock out the knees.
So just a softness in the knees.
You can even bounce up and down a little bit.
Now we're going to add that three part inhale with an open mouth,
Exhale to some arm movements.
And it looks like this.
Start by fully exhaling arms forward,
Arms to the sides,
Arms up,
And then we exhale forward and arms back.
All right,
Now we're going to put that breath with the movement.
Try it with me.
We'll do it five times.
Empty all of your air out.
And now stand back up,
Close your eyes.
Just notice how you feel for a moment.
It's okay if you feel a little dizzy,
Just stand still.
And notice how the energy shifts.
It's like a nice little flush to the brain with some oxygen and a little bit of movement.
So the next time you're needing a little pick me up,
Try breath of joy and see how that feels for you.
