Let's settle into our comfortable meditation posture.
And close our eyes.
Relaxing here into the body.
Maybe imagining dropping the mind down into the body.
As if you were lowering into a tub or pool or hot springs.
That's exactly the right temperature.
Settling in in a pleasant and relaxing way.
Today,
We're going to talk about intuition.
How to access your natural intuition,
How to tune in and hear what's available to you.
But it starts by letting go of just chasing thoughts.
This can take time and regular practice.
Simply dropping into the body and relaxing here.
Instead of staying too busy to listen or spacing out so that we're not clear enough to hear.
So starting in the body.
If you're seated,
Sitting up tall.
Then relaxing around the energized spine.
Look around the body,
Softening and relaxing.
Notice how the body feels right now.
Give the body permission to feel exactly how it feels right now.
Relax with the body how it is.
Relax into the body.
We're learning over time to establish a quiet presence in the body.
A receptive presence,
Relaxed and alert.
Getting comfortable and familiar with relaxed presence.
Getting a sense of it.
You can't do this wrong.
It's a natural quality of your awareness.
It's a question of accessing it,
Finding it.
Trusting it.
Learning to settle in.
Notice your breathing.
Soften the belly and allow the breath to be natural.
Just letting the body breathe however it needs.
However it wants.
Letting go of directing the breathing.
Softening and allowing.
Relaxed knowing of how the breathing is right now.
Breathing in and breathing out,
Relaxing with what is.
Finding a soft clarity of mind.
Not hyperfocused or hypervigilant.
Instead,
A quality of wakefulness arises.
Effortless clarity.
An effortless presence.
Not concerned about thinking.
Not making thinking a big deal.
Not assessing how the meditation is going.
Not needing to evaluate this moment.
Not needing to measure how well you're doing or whether the instructions are any good.
No need to quantify or judge anything.
Relaxing into being here.
It's okay if you find yourself having wandered off.
Don't make it a problem.
Once you realize you've wandered,
You're already back.
Enjoy being back.
Appreciate the momentum of returning that's built into the system.
No matter how many times we wander.
We always come back.
If we don't make it a problem,
We can relax here more easily.
Listening to the body.
Getting familiar with that receptive quality of listening.
The body is like an antenna that receives and transmits.
What's the body transmitting right now?
Easy receptivity.
Relaxed clarity.
Not looking for anything special.
Receiving what's being transmitted.
Mind open and relaxed.
Intuition,
At least for me,
Doesn't happen during meditation.
Instead,
We cultivate the skill of resting the mind,
Of being open to what is.
And then information comes at quiet moments.
For me,
It usually happens when I'm walking in nature or driving my car.
We call this post-meditation.
When the effects of meditation are in play,
But we're not actively practicing.
Times when we're not trying to listen,
But we're aware enough to be receptive.
Like,
First thing in the morning,
Before we're totally awake.
Not too busy doing something else?
Not concentrated on anything in particular.
Sometimes we want an intuitive hit on something specific.
We can let our mind know.
Or our higher mind,
Or our guides,
Or the universe,
Or God?
Whatever you believe is the source of intuition.
We can drop our specific question into our consciousness.
We don't have to know to whom we are directing our question.
Try to avoid yes or no questions.
These are unlikely to get answered.
Instead,
State what you want to know in a relaxed way.
I do it silently,
But you can do it out loud if you prefer.
I like to keep questions as open as possible,
Like what's best in this situation,
So that the nature of my question doesn't limit the range of the answer.
It seems that often the answer is something I'm not even aware of,
Or I couldn't have thought of.
The answer most likely won't come right away.
Be patient.
Give it time.
Relax.
Continue your daily meditations to keep cultivating the ability to receive the message.
There are four general ways of receiving intuitive information.
You may have heard of them.
They're called the four clairs.
Claire,
Audience is hearing information.
When I get clear audience messages,
They're usually shouted,
Which leads me to believe that I've not been available enough to hear it at a regular volume.
Of course,
The shouting stops any potential doubting that the experience happened.
Clairvoyance is seeing information.
For me,
It's likely to be something like a bumper sticker that I see on a passing car that has the one word I need.
It tends to be so obvious and unlikely that I don't have to wonder if it was intuitive.
Intuitive information tends to be surprising in my experience.
If it's something I would normally think.
I don't tend to believe that that's an intuitive message.
Claire Sentience is feeling information.
I don't know how other folks experience this,
But for example,
When I get a sense that something's true,
I get a full body,
Very strong tingle and sense of openness.
Someone wrote a book called The Full Body Yes?
This is a good description of the experience.
Sometimes it's a rush of pleasant energy or warmth.
The fourth clear is clear cognizance.
This is my usual Claire,
And you will probably have a dominant Claire as well.
Clear cognizance is just knowing something that you wouldn't have any way of knowing.
And it's often surprising.
Sometimes I test it,
Asking someone a question that I think I know the answer to for no reason,
Just to confirm the experience.
This helps for confidence,
Although we don't need to overdo this type of testing.
Relaxing into the body.
Softening the body.
Not trying too hard.
Not making anything wrong.
Establishing presence.
All the time in the world to do this practice.
All the time in the world,
To develop our ability to tune into our deepest knowing.
Thank you.
