It can feel impossible to deal with grief & loss of something or someone we loved. Use this meditation to move through the seemingly impossible emotions within you and safely get to the other side into peace. You are loved. Life doesn't often play by the rules or laws we observe.
It seems to craft them as it unfolds,
Its rules sometimes cruel and seeming as though they were designed to watch you fall into the dirt.
Rarely does anything work out exactly how we want in the moment or think we deserve according to our measure.
Sometimes,
This is a gift.
We find ourselves grateful we didn't end up down a path we'd originally chosen,
Passed up for an opportunity we were sure we wanted,
Or burned by a love we were sure would last.
And other times,
It is only a disguise.
We sit amongst the ruin,
Clouded by dust,
And incapable of seeing any kind of light that would indicate there's another side.
There are times in life when something happens and you are given a gift-wrapped invitation to decide what it means.
In these moments,
We get to cooperate with life and shape what is happening to us into something for our eventual benefit.
And others,
When life just happens to you,
At you,
And your breathless face hitting from all sides,
We paint with a broad brush because we cannot admit that we have no control over any of this.
Sometimes,
Loss just feels like hollowing.
Pain just feels painful.
And grief just feels like loss.
Sometimes,
We get side-swept and there isn't any mantra to hang onto to pull us back above the crashing wave.
Sometimes,
It comes in the night,
Takes everything you know,
And leaves nothing behind but bare walls and a hollowed heart left to be washed to the sea,

Notice how far you can see now,
The ink has dissolved,
And in the depths you can now see sunbeams casting from the surface to the ocean floor,
Feel their warmth,
The familiar home of peace and possibilities,
Remember how vast you are,
How beautiful life is,
In all of its depths,
How endless love is,
Even through the waves,
Remember there are far more things that exist outside time and space,
And allow yourself to smile on the inside,
