Welcome to this meditation with the Empress.
She is an abundant woman,
Relaxed,
Connected to nature,
And in pleasure.
She is sensual and fertile,
And in some versions of her card she is shown as pregnant.
If you've pulled this card,
You may want to have it in front of you during the meditation,
Taking it in with your eyes open,
Or imagining and feeling with your eyes closed.
Feel free to shift between open and closed eyes depending on what feels most right to you and if you're actually looking at the card right now.
Before we talk too much about the meaning of this card,
Let's sit with the image.
Gaze at it if you have it there,
Or think of the image in your mind's eye.
Take a moment to notice which details pop out at you.
What's your first thought about what this card means to you,
If you have one?
What is the mood of this card for you?
Do you like this card?
Dislike?
Do you relate to this figure?
There is something very feminine about this card.
Notice that.
How do you feel about femininity inside you or outside of you?
What's your relationship with the feminine as an archetype?
Does this woman or this scene remind you of anyone?
Do you feel distanced from this card like you don't quite get it?
How do you feel in your body as you're looking at this card?
Whatever this is for you,
Just take a moment with it.
Some of the questions that I've offered may resonate and some may not.
Remember that your feelings about the card reveal more about its meaning than anything I'm about to tell you.
The magic of tarot is that it pulls forward knowledge you already have,
But maybe just didn't know it.
We'll pull it all together in a moment,
But just for right now,
Trust your conscious and unconscious mind to give you some information about what the card means to you.
Now take all that information your own mind and body just gave you and let's talk about it a little bit.
Notice what else happens in your mind or your body as I offer a bit more information about the Empress tarot card.
The Empress is the archetype of feminine fulfillment.
She is the cornucopia,
The horn of ever giving abundance.
She is soft and sensual,
Connected with her body and with nature.
She could be referring to a part of you that is coming out now or a part of you that needs to come out now if it's not.
How could gentle,
Abundant femininity apply to your question or situation?
What does it feel like in your body when you think about welcoming feminine abundance?
Fertility is a major aspect of this card.
It could mean literal pregnancy,
And you may want to think about how that lands with you if that's been on your mind.
But it can also mean the abundance and fertility of the natural world and the seasons.
And it can also be about creativity.
This isn't necessarily about mental creativity or work.
It's more about connecting with the body and the intuition,
The creative projects that come from the heart and the guts,
Though we may use our mental faculties to pull those forward a little bit more to midwife those ideas as it were.
So if you are working on creating something,
Whether that's a baby,
A relationship or a work project,
What is the attitude you are coming to that creation with?
As you gaze at the Empress or imagine her,
Consider what it would be like to approach with her energy,
Very relaxed,
Sitting back,
Resting,
Trusting herself and her abilities.
Feel free to write down any reflections that are coming to you as you settle with the meanings of this card for you today.
Remember to trust your own reactions more than any meaning someone else has written down.
Thank you for listening and good luck working with the archetype of the Empress.
