Welcome to this morning tea meditation.
Take a few minutes to settle into yourself before stepping into the day.
Bring your cup into both hands and allow yourself to become comfortable.
And feel the warmth meeting your palms and traveling into your fingers.
And notice the fragrance rising with the steam and the reassuring weight of the cup held securely within your hands.
And take a slow breath in.
And release it slowly.
And again,
Breathing in the freshness of the morning.
Breathing out any feeling of hurry.
And for these few moments,
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Now lift your cup and take your first slow sip.
Let the warmth rest upon your tongue before following it as it travels down into your body.
Feel yourself arriving within the morning.
Not rushing ahead into everything waiting to be done.
Resting here in the simplicity of this moment.
Now place the cup down and just become aware of the surface supporting you.
Feel your feet,
Your legs.
Base of your spine.
The warm,
Earthy light begins to gather within these places,
Steadying you from the inside.
And take your second sip.
And soft roots begin to grow from beneath your feet and they travel through the floor and down into the rich welcoming earth below.
These roots don't hold you back.
They give you the steadiness from which to move forward.
And with each breath they travel a little deeper.
Drawing strength and nourishment from the earth.
Take another sip now and feel the warmth of the tea joining this grounded energy.
The day ahead may contain movement,
Decisions,
Or unexpected changes.
There's no need to anticipate every moment now.
Thread runs from the roots beneath you and through your body into your heart.
And it keeps you connected to your centre wherever the day may lead.
Bring your cup close now and take one final conscious sip.
A sense of calm readiness begins to fill you.
Your mind feels clearer.
Your body more present.
And you're in a rhythm strong enough to carry you through the hours ahead.
Notice the sounds around you.
Move your fingers and toes.
Roll your shoulders softly.
And allow your eyes to open fully.
Our morning practice is now complete and thank you for sharing this cup with me.
May your steps be steady,
Your heart remain centred.
And whenever the day carries you away from yourself,
May you remember the roots beneath your morning cup.
Namaste.
You.
