Welcome to this awakening meditation.
This is the awakening meditation of Cleopatra.
A thin ray of sunlight pierced through the fine linen curtains of green Cleopatra.
It glides gently across the marble floor,
Stretched out onto the queen's bed and slowly climbs up the sheets until it reaches her sleeping face.
Cleopatra slowly opens her eyes.
She didn't move right away.
Her body,
Perfectly relaxed,
Still seems enveloped in the dream she had had.
She remembered the starry boat,
Isis,
And the profound peace that she hadn't felt for a long time.
She even dreamed of being famous many,
Many,
Many years,
Decades after her future death.
She is still present in people's minds,
Thoughts,
In ancient and remote places,
Places that are very far away from where she is.
It was a nice dream,
She says.
It's still just a dream.
She's still staying with that sensation of her being remembered.
She hadn't felt as relaxed as she is for a long,
Long time.
It was a rare sleep,
A complete sleep.
She turns her head slightly.
The scent of clean linen,
Sweet almond oils and dried jasmine waft through the air.
With each breath,
She senses these oils and it relaxes her.
The palace is still silent as if the whole world is holding its breath,
Respecting the queen's slow awakening.
She gently stretches her arms above her head,
Her muscles,
Supple and tension-free,
Remind her of the night walk,
Which reminds her too of the breeze blowing through the sycamores.
The night before seemed like another world,
Her dreams seemed like another world,
And yet she smiles.
A bird sings,
Perched on the ledge of a large window.
Its song echoes through the room softly.
Cleopatra lets it accompany her in that moment.
Suspended between night and day,
She inhales deeply,
Welcoming the scent of morning.
A subtle blend of heated stone,
Open flowers,
Warm honey from the kitchens.
She is in her thoughts when she hears a quiet voice through the door.
Your highness,
It was Enu.
Cleopatra replied,
Still lying down,
Come in,
Enu.
The maid entered quietly,
Carrying an olive wood tray on which rested a bowl of warm water infused with herbs,
A small bowl of fresh fruits,
Figs,
Dates,
Pieces of melon,
A few pomegranate seeds.
Did you sleep well,
Your majesty,
Enu said.
Cleopatra closed her eyes for a moment.
Her body was still heavy,
Better than I expected.
Thank you,
Enu,
It's all thanks to you.
I had an amazing night's sleep,
It was very relaxing.
The maid bowed slightly,
Setting down the tray.
Cleopatra slowly straightened and sat on the edge of the bed.
She dipped her fingertips into the bowl and brought the water to her face.
The gentle warmth and scent awakened her a little more.
She bit into a pomegranate seed,
The sweet juice burst onto her tongue and she suddenly felt very present.
Today,
She said,
I want the day to start slowly.
No meetings,
No scribes,
Just a bath,
Some music,
Maybe some reading in the garden.
Enu smiled and bowed again.
Very well,
Your majesty.
As the maid left the room,
Cleopatra walked to the window.
She opened the intricately carved wooden shutters and let in the golden morning light.
The Nile shone peacefully in the distance.
Birds fluttered in the tree.
Servants began to walk towards the palace.
And here,
In her room,
Everything still remained calm.
Cleopatra looked up at the sky and whispered,
Thank you Isis for tonight.
And then she let the curtain fall and turned back to her day bed.
She was in no hurry.
Today would be a peaceful day and perhaps tonight she would call upon the harvest again.
Not to chase away the thoughts,
Simply to gently guide them towards another dream.
Maybe the dream of her will be remembered in future generations in more remote places than Egypt.
Maybe she is going to ask her husband to find more about these places that she has dreamt of.
Cleopatra more peacefully than ever now opened her eyes to a bright and colourful world.
This is the end of this morning meditation.
I hope that you have enjoyed it.
Allow yourself to wake up calmly as Queen Cleopatra did.
I wish you an amazing day.
Have a nice day and please rate this meditation.
