Welcome to today's meditation.
Start by finding yourself in a comfortable seat.
Dropping the weight of the sit bones down to the earth and spreading the chest wide,
Opening the space of the heart.
Going tall along the spine,
Lifting the crown of the head up,
And letting the jaw and eyes soften completely.
Meditation is about balancing our chakras,
Our energy centers that run along the spine from the base of the sit bones all the way up to the crown of the head.
Imagine yourself in a beautiful tropical paradise.
Imagine yourself at the foot of a waterfall.
You can hear the rush of water pouring down.
It's a gentle sound,
A calming sound,
A sound of grace and of strength.
When you reach out and touch the waterfall,
You notice the water is warm.
You decide to put one shoulder in the water and then another shoulder in the water.
And then eventually your head goes under too and you feel water as it pours down over the crown of your head.
There's a glow from the water.
It's a bright white light.
Then the water starts to change colors.
It turns from white to bright red,
Flowing over the shoulders and the crown of your head.
It then changes again to bright orange.
And changing again to yellow like the sun.
And the color changes to green,
Deep emerald like the forest.
And then again to light blue.
It changes to a deep indigo blue like the night sky before the darkness unfolds.
And then again back into the glowing,
Shimmering white.
You let this water wash all over you and from your feet to your legs to your hips along the sides of the body and down over the shoulders and arms and the crown of the head.
And as this water washes all over the body,
You notice that it takes with it any tension,
Any stress,
Any unwanted emotions and feelings of tightness that you are storing along the body.
Instead,
It leaves you refreshed,
Relaxed.
It leaves you with a deep feeling and sense of harmony.
Slowly returning back into your body,
Letting the vision of the waterfall fade.
Returning back to your breath.
Taking three loud deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
You're ready to face the day.
You're balanced.
You have connected to your center and you have begun with a sense of calm.
Whatever comes your way today,
Handle it with grace and with compassion and with strength.
