Chakras are energy centres that run through the body. When one is blocked it can block off our emotions. This meditation will introduce you to the Chakra system, and help clear and balance any disturbances in your energetic body.

Welcome to our daily meditation.

This is a meditation designed to connect you to your entire body.

In a time that we're in right now where things are very uncertain,

There's a lot of energy,

Of anxiety,

You might be feeling it in certain parts of the body.

And while it is perfectly okay to feel overwhelmed by all the emotions,

It's also perfectly okay to not hold them for too long.

And so our meditation is designed to feel all of the energy that is pouring through the body,

Connecting to the different chakras,

The different energy fields of the body,

And giving us the opportunity to really relieve what no longer serves us in this moment.

I'll start by finding yourself in a comfortable seat.

I've carved out some space where I can lay out my yoga mat,

Sit upright with a meditation cushion,

Light some Paulo Santo,

And won't be bothered by any distractions.

I invite you to do the same.

Maybe you light a candle,

Maybe you burn some sage or some Paulo Santo,

Maybe you rub some essential oil on your palms and bring it up to your face.

Anything that helps in this routine,

This ritual of carving out time for yourself for self-care and self-love.

Now one of the things that has been extra difficult during this time is the lack of human connection,

The lack of human touch.

And for those who are with their families,

Hunkering down in the privacy of their own houses,

You might have experienced hugs from your loved ones.

But for some of us,

We're not the ones who are the ones who are the ones who are the ones who are really here to experience hugs from your loved ones.

But for some of us,

We maybe have a lot less human connection,

Physical human touch than normal.

So I invite you now to just wrap your arms around your chest and give yourself a big squeeze,

A big hug.

I'm sharing some love for yourself,

That every feeling that you have,

That you experience,

Is valid.

Is to be accepted and appreciated and nurtured.

Now as you close your eyes,

I invite you to take a few deeper breaths.

And see if you can lengthen your breaths out.

Breathing is the most fantastic tool for regulating the nervous system.

It helps to calm the stress hormone cortisol and it helps to give us a sense of control and something that maybe feels a little bit more distant these days.

And so we need to take extra time and extra care and plug in some extra energy in order to be able to use the breath as a tool for finding calm and peace.

Extending the breath so you breathe in for a count of two and then breathe out for a count of two.

And counting in your own head,

Moving at your own pace.

And and and and moving at your own pace.

Do not try to sink your breath to anyone else.

If you are experiencing this meditation with a loved one or a friend,

I'm breathing in for your own count of two and then exhaling for your own count of two.

And can you extend your breath now for an inhale count of three and an exhale count of three.

And then extending one last time.

Inhale,

Count of four and exhale count of four.

Bringing your awareness now away from the breath to the very top of the head.

And this represents our crown chakra.

And the color of the chakra is bright white like shining light from the sun.

Now as we move into each chakra,

Each energy of the body,

I'm going to give one word to summarize or characterize that chakra.

Now crown chakra is all about universal love.

It's the chakra that connects us,

Our human being,

Our body,

Our individual with that of everything around us.

And whether or not we are aware of it,

We are connected to everyone around us and everything around us,

Which is why when there's something so challenging that we're all experiencing,

We feel it deep inside ourselves.

And so when you feel at peace,

Imagine that this energy of peace moving from you is therefore affecting everyone else.

It's touching all the loved ones in your life,

All the distant friends,

And eventually all people everywhere.

And benefiting from your sense of peace.

One last breath to visualize this white light at the crown of the head.

And then bringing awareness to the space between the eyebrows,

Our third eye chakra,

A deep indigo blue.

And the one word for this characterization is intuition.

Representing what we know in our hearts to be true,

What we feel in our bodies to be right for us.

Now this time it can feel like we're unsure of what the right moves are.

How much seclusion should we be experiencing?

How much seclusion should we be experiencing?

What should we be doing in this time?

How should we be reacting?

All of these questions can be looked at through the lens of the third eye chakra.

I'm taking a quiet moment to connect into this indigo blue between the eyebrows and to access your center of intuition.

And then bringing the awareness down into the throat.

This is a clear blue like the sky.

And the throat chakra represents in one word,

Expression,

Our ability to share,

Our ability to listen and sharing our experience,

Sharing our emotions and listening intently as others share their hearts with us.

Asking yourself,

Can I share more?

Can I listen more intently as others share them?

I'm bringing the awareness down now into the heart.

And this chakra is dedicated to compassion.

It's the color of green and the color of the sun.

And this chakra is dedicated to compassion.

It's the color of green like moss that grows on the trees in our backyard.

And taking one more breath here,

Breathing in this green energy,

Compassion.

And can you be more gentle on yourself or on others around you?

And bring the awareness a little bit lower to the space that you're in.

And then,

As you breathe in,

You can feel the energy of your body.

And bring the awareness a little bit lower to the space above the belly button,

Visualizing a yellow light for the solar plexus chakra.

In one word,

This chakra represents identity,

Who we are and what we like,

What makes us thrive,

What excites us.

The center of our beings,

How we show up to others,

And how we show up in our world.

Can you take one breath into the space above the belly button,

Where the solar plexus chakra lives?

And then bringing the awareness a little bit lower to the space below the belly button,

Our sacral chakra,

Imagining the chakra as a bright orange,

Like the color of a fire.

One word to describe this chakra is passion,

Who we love and what we love,

What drives us.

Even if you are not able to experience all of the things that makes your soul sing at this time,

Can you use the powerful tool of our minds to visualize yourself in those moments that filled you so much with love and passion?

Can you take one more breath into the sacral chakra,

Filling up your belly just below the belly button,

And then exhaling release.

And bringing the awareness a little bit lower now,

Into the space at the base of the spine.

Here lies our final chakra,

Our root chakra,

The color of red.

And the one word to describe this is community.

That's our feeling of being grounded,

Our sense of belonging and what it means to be at home.

At this time,

Community is extra important,

More so than normal.

And we're aware of just how much we need it,

Than we ever have before.

Now it's important to take time every day to remember that you're part of something bigger.

And by us all meditating together,

We're joining in a small way together for support.

And we are all in this together.

And make sure to keep this a strong element of your days.

I'm taking one more breath here,

Visualizing the red light down into the earth at the base of the spine.

And then moving the awareness up,

Nice and slowly,

As if you're connecting into each chakra,

Moving up towards the crown.

From root to sacral orange,

To solar plexus yellow,

To heart green,

To throat light blue,

To crown indigo,

Or to third eye indigo,

To crown white.

And then moving down again,

From crown white to third eye indigo,

To throat light blue,

To heart green,

To solar plexus yellow,

To sacral orange,

To root red.

One more time.

From root red,

To sacral orange,

To solar plexus yellow,

To heart green,

To throat light blue,

To third eye indigo,

And to crown white.

Stay with your attention on crown,

Visualizing that white light again,

Reaching up past your physical top of the head.

Imagine it connecting you to something greater and bigger,

A universal love that connects all things,

Connects all beings,

And all moments of nature.

Slowly letting all visualizations go,

And turning back to your breath,

Slowing the pace of the breath.

Now is the time in our meditation to just breathe,

Experience a shavasana of sorts.

I'll ding the singing bell when we are to begin,

And I'll ding the singing bell again once we're through.

So take a moment now,

Maybe find yourself lying down,

Or if you feel too tired,

Feel yourself lying down,

Or if you feel comfortable sitting upright,

You can stay sitting upright.

Now let's begin.

And starting to deepen the breath,

Inviting some movements into the fingers and toes,

And maybe like waking up with a stretch.

You can reach your arms overhead,

Bring the big toes together,

Breathe in,

And release out.

And slowly make your way back to a comfortable seat.

I'll bring our hands to heart center and close our meditation with one om.

Now this may feel a little bit silly doing in your house if you have roommates or partners,

If you have children or friends.

I'll just explain to them that oming releases tension and gives you a sense of calm.

Maybe this is a barrier,

Not that is brought on by anybody else,

But that is within your own mind,

And I totally understand this.

But let's work on pushing through our barriers,

Pushing through our fears altogether,

Taking a big breath in,

Exhaling through the mouth,

Inhaling for one om.

Om.

And making the eyes open if they're closed and coming back to the room.

And thank you for joining me and our lovely online community together in meditation.

Namaste.
