Clearest and wisest self?
My name is Jason Stevenson,
And in tonight's meditation,
You will come back home to a place of deep peace and inner knowing.
As you journey through a serene and sacred landscape,
Surrounded by ancient trees and shimmering gold sunlight,
You will discover a figure of your highest self who will offer insight to support you on your life's path.
There are no prerequisites for being here,
You will be guided every step of the way.
So whoever you are,
Whatever your experience may be,
You're welcome.
Before we begin,
Just take a moment to settle into your sleep space,
Allow your head to soften into the pillow beneath it,
And your body to be deeply held by the bed below,
And take a long,
Slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
Let your eyes gently close if they have not already done so.
Take two more slow,
Cleansing breaths,
Allowing yourself to gently land in this practice with each long exhale.
Before we journey to that sacred inner landscape,
Let's prepare the mind by relaxing the body.
As we gently unravel any physical tension,
However subtle it may be,
We become more receptive to the insight ready to stream through.
So start by sensing into the bed beneath you,
Just noticing the way it cradles your whole self.
As I guide you through your physical body,
Imagine each part gently melting into that supportive surface,
Tension dissipating with each out-breath.
And with each inhale,
Feel the quiet,
Open space within you growing,
Creating more room for insight and guidance to flow through you.
Now,
Begin this gentle body scan by drawing your attention to your toes and the soles of your feet,
Sensing into these parts with gentle curiosity.
And as you hold these parts of your feet in your undivided,
Loving attention,
Send them a breath of renewal.
With the inhale,
They fill with fresh,
Restorative,
Spacious energy,
And as you exhale,
They surrender into the bed below,
Letting go of the day now behind you.
Hold both your feet in your awareness completely,
Sensing the tops of your feet,
The sides of your feet,
Your heels and your arches,
And send them another slow,
Cleansing breath,
Settling into the space that cocoons them.
And then become aware of your ankles,
Observing these joints with curiosity and gratitude,
Sending them to a slow,
Loving breath,
Inviting a sense of spaciousness to grow in your ankles as you breathe in,
And inviting them to surrender as you breathe out.
At any point during this meditation,
If a sensation feels too difficult to be present with,
You are encouraged to inch away from that area,
Residing in a place of greater comfort.
The intention here is to help you relax,
So please do whatever you need to do to assist the process.
Now,
From your ankles,
Imagine your inner eye moving into your calves,
Gently scanning the entire backside of your lower legs,
As your awareness moves through these muscles,
Any tension they hold melts into the bed below,
And then invite this energy of relaxation to wrap around the sides of your lower legs,
And to flow through every square inch of your shins,
And as you hold your lower legs in your full awareness,
Fill them with a slow,
Restorative in-breath,
Tension dissipating as you exhale,
As your lower legs relax completely,
Your awareness rises to your knees,
And as your attention lands there,
Fill your knees with a slow,
Gentle cleansing breath,
Perhaps softening with a sigh as you exhale,
Your awareness rises into the backs of your upper legs,
Soothing your hamstrings with gentle,
Loving attention,
And then envision that presence wrapping itself around the sides of your upper legs,
And into the fronts,
Softening all the cells and muscles of your quadriceps,
Take a long,
Gentle breath into your upper legs,
Spaciousness growing with the in-breath,
And tension dissolving with the out-breath,
Your legs are deeply,
Deeply relaxed,
And as your attention rises into your pelvis,
Your awareness now filling your entire pelvic area,
And bathing this area with calm,
Caring presence,
And with your next inhale,
This space fills with a slow,
Nourishing breath,
Tension dissipating on the out-breath,
Become aware now of your entire lower abdomen,
Feeling into your belly as it expands and contracts,
Allow your breath to fill this space without effort,
And without resistance,
Feeling it grow more and more spacious with each breath cycle,
And as your belly softens,
Your attention moves slowly along your spine,
Vertebra by vertebra,
Blessing every cell,
Every bone,
And every muscle with care,
Spaciousness,
And relaxation,
Slowly but surely,
Your awareness arrives in your heart,
Let it take its time to land there,
Taking a few slow,
Cleansing breaths into your heart space when it does,
Allow your heart to fully receive each in-breath,
Feeling an energetic expansion with each cycle,
And with each out-breath,
Your heart softens,
Anything it no longer needs to hold seeps down through the bed and earth below,
Now notice that as your heart expands and softens,
So does your chest,
And as your chest expands and softens,
So does your back,
As both your chest and back expand and soften,
Your shoulders begin to relax,
And surrender to the bed beneath them with your next out-breath,
From your shoulders,
Invite this spacious,
Restorative energy to enter your upper arms,
To encircle the fronts,
The sides,
And the backs of your upper arms,
And every cell and every muscle is filled with ease and lightness as you inhale,
Tension dissolving as you exhale,
And now let your awareness travel into your elbows,
Sensing these joints with care and appreciation,
Allow the breath to nurture them,
Sensing into every cell and muscle in the fronts,
Sides,
And the backs of your lower arms,
And as you inhale,
These areas grow increasingly spacious,
And as you exhale,
They relax deeper and deeper,
Now sense into your wrists,
Observing these joints throughout a full cleansing breath in,
And as you release that breath,
Travel into your hands,
Sensing into the tops of your hands,
And your fingers,
Offering them permission to let go,
Fill your hands with an expansive,
Spacious breath in,
And they release their grip on the out-breath,
And as your hands relax completely,
Let your attention move back up your arms,
And let it flow across the upper edge of your shoulders,
And gently arrive in your neck,
Filling your neck with a soft,
Loving breath in,
And inviting these muscles to relax as you breathe out,
And slowly complete this journey through your body,
As you fill your entire face and head with a few slow,
Soothing breaths,
With each exhale,
Tension dissolves from your jaw,
From your forehead,
And with each inhale,
Your higher mind expands,
As if intuitively making space for the insight and guidance that awaits you,
Mind opening as you inhale,
And all residual tension,
Physical or mental,
Dissolving as you exhale,
Now in the quiet,
Receptive space that's unfolding within you,
A pathway to your higher self appears,
It's a winding trail of rich,
Dark earth,
Surrounded by lush green ferns and ancient trees,
And ribbons of golden sunlight stream through the emerald canopy overhead,
And the air is rich with the scent of cedar and wildflowers,
Take a moment to find your footing here,
Feeling the pulse of the trail beneath the soles of your feet,
This pathway,
And the forest that surrounds it,
Is a portal,
A gateway to a deep and meaningful connection with your higher self,
And the further you move along it,
The deeper inwards you journey,
And the closer you come to the wisdom and guidance that lives right within you,
So begin by making your way down the path now,
Moving mindful step by mindful step,
And as you walk,
Envision yourself travelling with a long spine,
Open heart,
And relaxed shoulders,
Crown reaching for the golden sunshine light above,
And imagine this light permeating the top of your head,
And then slowly moving through your body like warm,
Liquid honey,
Deepening your embodiment of relaxation,
With each passing moment,
Your inner eye expands,
And you become aware of all the different life forms and elements that appear around you,
Making the forest entirely your own,
Perhaps you envision fluttering blue butterflies,
Floating pastel petals,
Or a trickling crystal clear stream,
Whatever makes this forest feel sacred and special to you,
Envision it coming to life in your mind's eye,
Now allow your senses to grow stronger here,
Pay close attention to what this forest sounds like,
What it smells like,
What it feels like,
And all the details of what it looks like,
Whatever you imagine,
This should be a landscape of comfort,
Safety and tranquility,
And helping you to soften and open to the guidance that's very close to you now,
As you travel further inwards,
Making your way towards your higher self,
Take a moment to consider the primary areas of your life that could use some wisdom or guidance,
You might be looking for guidance in love and relationships,
Or in your career and finances,
Or you might need wisdom to help you cultivate more balance or inner peace,
Or to help you build the confidence you need to chase your dreams,
As you become aware of one or two key areas that would benefit from guidance,
Just hold them lightly in your awareness,
Exhale any stress or worry that surrounds them,
Leaning into a sense of trust in the path that you're on,
And wisdom will be revealed in its due time,
For now,
Simply become clear about why you're here,
What is it that you'd like guidance on,
Once you're aware of why you're here,
Set it aside for now,
And return your attention to the trail beneath your soles,
Continue to walk with open curious awareness,
With a long spine and relaxed shoulders,
Let your feet move slowly and gracefully upon the earth,
Trusting the timing of what's unfolding now,
Now as you prepare to make contact with your higher self,
Feel the muscles in your forehead softening once again,
And all tension melting into the forest floor,
And as any lingering tension dissipates,
Silently repeat the words,
I open my heart to deep wisdom,
I am ready to meet my higher self,
I trust my unique paths unfolding,
My higher self is here within me,
Take a slow deep inhale,
Feeling your chest gently expand,
And then let go with a subtle sigh,
And another slow steady breath in,
And a smooth clearing breath out,
Continue to breathe naturally,
And in the next few moments,
Your higher self will appear on the path before you,
And this higher self will be represented in a way that feels natural to you,
Perhaps as a radiant version of yourself,
As a spiritual or otherworldly being,
Or as a figure of light,
There's no right or wrong way to experience this higher self,
So long as the vibration it radiates is of love,
Wisdom and peace,
So take your time now to let your higher self appear on the path before you,
Again the figure might look like another version of you,
Like a spiritual being,
Or it may be a light body,
It might also take on any other form that feels intuitive to you,
And as you approach your higher self,
Pay attention to the qualities it emanates,
What does it feel like to be in its presence,
How does your higher self greet you,
Can you perceive its aura,
And if so,
What color is that aura,
Regardless of the details of how you're greeted,
Your higher self will always be receptive to meeting you,
And welcoming you into their presence with warm care and respect,
Feel the way it embraces you now,
And notice where you are as you meet your higher self,
Perhaps the landscape transforms into a different place,
Like a meadow or a beach,
Or maybe you remain right where you are in the heart of the forest,
Let this journey be personal to who you truly are,
Wherever you find yourself,
Envision the two of you taking a seat in a place of comfort,
A place where you feel safe and relaxed,
And as you settle in here,
Recall your intention for being here,
What areas of your life would you like wisdom or guidance on,
And hold this intention for being here close to your heart,
Your higher self can feel it,
It knows exactly why you're here,
And when you're ready,
Pose the following question to the figure of your highest self,
What wisdom can you offer me related to why I'm here,
What wisdom can you offer me related to why I'm here,
Stay quiet and receptive to any words of love or guidance that are ready to flow through,
And bathe in what your higher self has to share with you,
Wisdom or guidance may come through as words,
Or as energy,
Or as a deep inner knowing of something you need to do or consider,
And be open to all possibilities,
And practice patience in this process,
Stay with this original question if the wisdom is flowing through,
But if you need a slightly different prompt,
Consider asking,
What do I need to know or consider as I move forward in life,
What do I need to know or consider as I move forward in life,
Again,
Stay quiet and receptive to any insights that are ready to enter your consciousness,
And if any judgement or resistance appears,
Simply notice it,
And continue to witness the wisdom with care and curiosity,
You don't need to assess the guidance or make any committed plans right now,
And simply notice what's being presented to you,
Spend a little while longer bathing in the wisdom and guidance that your higher self is offering you,
And as you move towards the end of this meeting,
You might like to ask one more question,
And it could be a question of your own,
Or you might ask,
Is there anything else I should know,
Consider,
Or cultivate at this present time,
Is there anything else I should know,
Consider,

And when the transmission of wisdom feels complete,
Take a few quiet breaths to simply rest in the wise,
Loving vibration of your higher self,
And if you struggle to identify any clear guidance or wisdom,
Allow that to be okay too,
And sometimes we need simply to attune to the frequency of our higher self before its message is made clear,
You can come back to this figure at any time,
In either case,
Bathe in the energetic vibration of your higher self,
Feel it permeate you,
Its energy is,
In fact,
Your own,
Now take a moment to thank your higher self for appearing here tonight,
Thank it for its love,
Support,
And guidance,
And when you're ready,
Envision your higher self slowly and gracefully departing,
As you stay grounded to the calm,
Supportive environment you're in,
And as this wise figure dissipates from view,
Take a long,
Steady inhale,
Allowing the wisdom you've garnered to settle deep into your cells and bones,
And as you exhale,
Release with a soft sigh,
Anchoring deeply to the earth,
And before you transition to sleep,
If there's any intention you'd like to set for the days to come,
Based on the wisdom you've discovered tonight,
Quietly identify and set that intention now,
And then,
Wherever you find yourself within this visualization,
Notice there's a light source above you,
It could be an amber afternoon sun,
A beaming silver moon,
Or a floating orb of ethereal light,
Whatever feels most intuitive to you,
Envision the presence of that light source now,
This light source is an embodiment of the wisdom and guidance you've received here,
And of the wisdom that is always within you,
And feel it shining down upon you,
Filling your whole body,
From crown to toes,
With the light of clear seeing,
Envision this light clearing away any inner clutter that holds you back from your deep wisdom,
And as this light soothes every cell of your body,
Quietly repeat the words,
There is a source of guidance within me,
I hold the answers that I've been searching for for so many years,
I am always connected to inner wisdom,
My higher self is here within me,
Now take a few slow,
Steady breaths to finish integrating this experience into every cell,
Fiber,
Bone and muscle of your being,
As you inhale,
Imagine yourself filling with love,
Light and ever more wisdom,
And as you exhale,
Surrender more deeply to the earth,
Now there's nothing left for you to do tonight,
But drift off to sleep,
If you still hold questions,
That's ok,
You don't need all the answers to experience inner peace,
And you don't need all the answers to reside in wisdom,
And wisdom lies in our ability to trust the natural way life unfolds,
To trust that our higher self is always here within us,
Always here to support us,
And to know we can connect with it at any time,
The path will unfold one step at a time,
So as you exhale,
Sink deeper and deeper into that foundation of trust,
Deeper and deeper into wisdom and peace,
Continually soften through your breath,
And soften through your body,
And know that in the days to come,
Clarity and deep inner knowing will continue to grow,
And it will guide you step by step along your way,
So,
Gently now,
Allow the imagery of this tranquil landscape to dissolve from your mind's eye,
Remembering that you can return to it at any time,
And as it does,
Reconnect with your felt sense of your body on the bed,
And noticing again the way it cocoons you,
Allow yourself to be warmly held by your physical environment as you drift off to sleep,
And as you do,
Let the following words travel through you,
May they deepen your sense of trust in the wisdom that is always,
Always there inside of you,
I am deeply connected to my higher self,
I trust the intelligence that lives within me,
I surrender to the wisdom of my life's journey,
I am always guided by a wise inner force,
I am loved and supported on my path,
Insight flows freely through me,
I can switch on the light of clear seeing,
I hold the answers that I seek,
Everything is unfolding as it is meant to,
I am patient with my life's process,
I am constantly expanding and evolving,
I am a conduit for universal intelligence,
I act in accordance with my inner wisdom,
I am at peace with the timing of the universe,
I embrace uncertainty with curiosity,
I am an open vessel for love and wisdom,
