This is a short mindfulness of breathing practice to de-stress, focus and relax. Sometimes we just need a short little practice throughout the day to remind us to be in the present moment. Or it could be practiced in the morning if you don't have time for a longer practice to set the intention for the day. After the 2-minute guidance finishes, you might like to continue to do your own practice.

2 minute mindfulness exercise.

To begin find a comfortable sitting position on a chair or if you prefer you can do this practice standing.

This is a very short practice.

When you are ready take a deep breath in and hold it for a moment before you breathe out slowly.

Now allow your breath to find its own natural rhythm without trying to control it or change it.

Simply breathing.

Try and feel your breathing in your belly.

Feeling the whole in breath and the whole out breath.

Notice how long it takes you to inhale and to exhale.

Simply feel this experience of breathing as best as you can.

It's the nature of your mind to wander off into thoughts.

When you notice that this has happened gently move your attention back to only focusing on your natural breathing.

Feeling your breathing with a sense of tenderness and bringing kindness to your breathing.

And then gently bringing this exercise to an end.

Or if you like you might choose to continue and focus on your breathing a little longer.
