Letting Go Of Pleasing Others

We have no power or control over what anyone else feels or chooses. The only power we have is what we choose. So choose happiness and freedom and know that both are in your own hands and no one else’s. You do not have to be ‘good’ – and you do not need to please anyone else. You already are good and infinitely worthy of love. Love is unconditional. It doesn’t require you to ‘do’ or ‘be’ anything in order to be deserving of receiving it. The greatest gift we can give ourselves – and others – is to take back responsibility for ourselves and our own happiness.

Thank you! There are NO accidents! This morning, I stumbled on your lovely meditation, knowing I needed that message. Being brought up n the 50's I was made to please everyone, my needs were not considered. Now, in my 7th decade, I am still trying to please. However, I am just beginning to learn to say, NO! Your lovely meditation just gave me further encouragement to continue letting go! I am a very outgoing, happy person, but, sometimes give too much!
